Autistic looking to Start a Business:
Employment has been allusive thanks to the issues that Autism brings on. Being chronically unemployed for that last couple of years. I have come to the conclusion. I have to start a business. As to relive this issue and give me economic independence and life style independence.
As part of this I had to find what I was good at and not so great at. I have come to the conclusion I need to make a small technology business. My talents lend to fixing, trouble shooting and maintaining computers, smartphones, 3D Printers, networking among other things. I hope you will help bring my dream to life.
The Business idea:
This idea is to run a technology clinic. Think of a medical clinics you see on wheels that go from location to location to provide basic medial care on demand. I would want do this with technology. Do this in a RV similar to the GMC like above or a Airstream Motorhome. The all metal versions they made up to 1996.
I would operate out of this. Traveling in and around the greater Kitsap County. Fixing peoples tech. Helping them add tech to their businesses or daily lives. Like setting up cameras. Fixing laptops, desktops and smartphones.
It matches well with the gig economy we have now. I could provide services on demand that BestBuy's Geek squad can't provide. Nor any other local computer business in my area. As they are still stuck in using the retail store model based in a retail space of some kind. Like a mall or department store, or name your location.
My hours of business can also adapt to what my customers need and want. One day they may not need me for a whole lot of hours. The next day. It might be the extreme opposite and work 16 hours.
I am here to give great service and give my expertise that comes with having high IQ Autism. I'll to whatever it takes to get it done. Will do everything to get the project done.
On the side I would also love to use what I get from this. To refurbish old tech that can be donated to people of need. Like fixing older laptops that could go to poor students or people on poor parts of the world. When I have down time from helping costumers.
What I need to get this going:
This is were the largest part of the price I am asking. Buying one will be between $12,000 to around $30,000 depending on upgrades and condition, and location. The RV would be upgraded with solar and batteries. Allowing me to operate quietly with out the need to a noisy generator in most cases. Along with branding, storage, among other minor additions.
I do not want to purchase a stick built RV. They are cheap and look cheap. The reason I want the GMC or Airstream, they are built to last and built just like airplanes and 40 years later are still solid with no leaks, with strong engines. Hence why I am asking for so much.
Then I will have to have some money to buy web hosting and all that comes with that. physical branding, such as shirts I would wear while working, business cards, pens, banners. Pay an artist who can do some graphic design(Already have someone in mind)
Next issue is having a little cache of money for legal matters. My county is a pain to try to open a small business of any kind. I need money to be able to possibility hire a lawyer. If they deny permits or licences or just plain bureaucracy matters. With that also have money to pay the local government their pound of flesh.
Why I think I will be successful.
We live very much in the world of on demand services. We see this online but also in person. Think of how Uber and lyft have revolutionized on demand transportation. How sites like Feelancer have made it easy to get people to get one off projects done, such as websites or 3d modeling etc.
I think my business idea would fit this new mode of thinking in my local area. I want to be the Uber of the computer fixit world. Someone sends me a message who need some work done, I can do it on short notice. Be over to their business or home fast. Or just camp out in a parking lot( with permistion of the property owner) and have people just drop in who need work done fairly quickly.
My prices I have deicided on would be comparable to what you would pay at BestBuy for similar out of warranty service with out all the overhead a retailer would have. Like lease, power, property taxes etc.
As I am the only employee, I don't have the over head that comes from hiring a lot of people. Such as pay role, OSHA among other things.
Conclusion:
I would love it if you were to support me in this mission of independence and employment this business would give me. Would give my family some measure of security that if something happens to them. I wont end up begging on the streets or worse.
