Funds to help build a New Elementary School
Our father passed away years ago from lung cancer after suffering from the disease for 3 years. After his death, our mom struggled throughout the years to provide for us and then to send us to college. She gave her all to make sure that all her children receive proper education in order to succeed in life.
After sending us to college and seeing us graduate, she decided it was time to do more for her community, and decided to do so by contributing to the educational system. She henceforth decided to build an Elementary Bilingual school in the city of Yaoundé where she currently lives. She has already accomplished the first step towards the project by purchasing a good piece of land, which sadly took all her savings. The land she was able to purchase so far is approximately 30,000 square feet.
Because she already used up all her money, we decided to surprise her by raising funds to help her continue the project because it has been on standby ever since the land was purchased. Since Cameroon is a bilingual country, she chose to dedicate herself to building this Elementary bilingual school for the young kids of Yaoundé . This GoFundMe will serve a great cause and have a great impact in the many lives of all the young ones who up till now were unable to get education for one reason or another. We will be grateful for any donations received, and if we are able to get enough money, we would also love to build a high school in addition to the elementary school. We would love to start this project as early as possible so that we can have children attending by the next school year.
Yaounde is the capital city of my home country Cameroon, Central Africa. The conditions in which certain kids receive education is not always the best, and we are willing to contribute to changing that and making it better. Every kid deserves a chance to receive proper education, and the environment in which they receive this education plays a role in the learning process. This is why we want to build a better school environment for the kids of Cameroon. A better school environment implies better infrastructures and buildings, better teachers with better pay, better textbooks and an overall better learning. Schools with buildings like the one in the picture below are not the best places for our kids to receive education in, but they unfortunately exist. Let's all work together to create a better learning environment.
Every donation counts and we are grateful for your time to even read this post, and to donate. We believe that we might need about $75,000 to make this happen, but it is always good to start from somewhere.
