A Little About Me
Hello, my name is Timothy Stam. I'm a twenty-one year old filmmaker and a senior at Liberty University studying cinematic arts. I first became interested in film when I was thirteen, making videos with my brothers in our backyard. Since then, my passion for film has only expanded. I see film as a means to provide powerful messages and healthy entertainment to the masses.
The Story
Jenny Howard, a counselor at an abortion clinic, seems to have everything together. She has a beautiful family, she knows what she believes, and she spends her life doing what she loves - helping others in need - but when her life is turned upside down, she begins to question everything she once held certain.
The Heartbeat of the Project
With roughly one million innocent lives ended each year in the U.S. through abortion, often by people who sincerely believe what they are doing to be morally acceptable, I know this is a huge and heavy topic to address.
Through this film, I hope to reach out to people who are pro-choice with a touching story that will cause deeper thought and consideration on the abortion issue. I believe that together, we can create a high quality, convincing drama that powerfully demonstrates the value of ALL human life, and every dollar you donate will help us to further accomplish that goal.
What We Need
We already have professional video equipment provided to us through Liberty University, but a lot of money goes into films in places other than equipment. Here's some of the things your money will be going towards:
Music - We hope to have our own original score.
Lead actors - We'd like to give our actors a little something for all they bring to the table.
Meals - We want to keep our cast & crew well fed and happy so they can focus on making the best film possible.
Locations - Offering a little bit of dough can go a long way in locking down essential locations.
Production design - The items that appear in the film.
Travel costs
If we don't reach our entire goal, we will still do as much as we can with what we have to turn out a quality (albeit altered) short.
The Impact
This film is my senior thesis film at Liberty University, and could help jump-start my career.
More importantly, this film has the potential to have a powerful, positive impact in the lives of real people. If successfully made, this short film will likely reach hundreds, possibly even thousands of viewers with the message that all life is precious and should be cherished.
Risks & Challenges
As one of my professors says, if you're not having problems, you're not making movies. Filmmaking is all about challenges and how to solve them. Here are the one's we're looking at going into this.
Getting great actors
Getting necessary locations
The more funds we raise, the more likely we will be able to secure these.
