THE ARTIST WITHIN PRODUCTION
Over the years we have heard the term “real job” over a thousand times and to our dismay, it has never applied to an artistic career. Often persuaded to forget the importance of art, many artists leave their gifts behind in search of a “practical” line of work, but where would this world be without art?
T H E A R T I S T W I T H I N
is a story driven production written and directed by GeNie Baffoe. The story seeks to cast a light on what it's like to be an artist while balancing a day job and other aspects of life unrelated to the art itself. All artists must fight day in and day out to grow, share, and protect their passion in whatever form it takes. This can come with many ups, downs, laughs, frustrations, rewards & disadvantages along the way. We invite you to witness this story that follows the journey of a Dancer, a choreographer, an actor, a rapper, a beatboxer, a singer, and a DJ. Some have put in the work and made it, some are working to make it, and some find themselves just working. This is a 1 of a kind look at the "behind the scenes" struggle of the artistic lifestyle. You think you know, but do you?
