Thatcher Nash, the most handsome sweet loving happy 6 month old baby boy. His mommy and daddy, Morgan and Chance Nash, need our prayers! You see we serve a mighty God, a God who watches over his children and that’s what he’s been doing for this family. Below I’ve added updates and information that Mom has posted on Facebook.

As most of you know Thatcher had to come to Little Rock today for what we thought was pneumonia. When we got her they noticed a loud systolic heart murmur and an enlarged liver. After further testing they determined that he has a congenital heart defect and will have to undergo open heart surgery. The cardiology team will meet tomorrow and come up with a time frame for surgery. He has transposition of the great arteries along with 2 holes in his heart. Please keep this sweet angel in your prayers. He is a tough little baby and we are so blessed by him! Just pray for comfort and healing. It’s going to be a rough time for us.

Thatcher update: we’ve had such a good day! He’s eaten good, he’s laughed & we did Christmas with Emmy. nothing has changed clinically. He is stable! They ran more tests today, a brain ultrasound and a kidney ultrasound. We still aren’t sure of the results of those! They also did another ECHO & he slept through it all so they got great pictures. As things sit now, we will have a cardiac cath and a TEE. Looking at open heart after the first of the year! We are so humbled by everyone that has contacted us and prayed for our baby!! Y’all are all so special to us. I will continue with updates! Thank you all for caring so much! Your love and prayers mean everything.

Update: this morning thatchers doctors came in for rounds, everything went well. Thatcher is scheduled for a heart cath next Wednesday or Thursday. He will have to be intubated for the procedure and they don’t believe they will be successful in weaning him off. The reason for
the cath is to test his pressures on the left side of his heart. This will result in too much tension on his lungs and he won’t be able to breath on his own. I will update more as I know. They are very optimistic about the end result so we’re doing our very best to stay positive. Thank you everyone for all you’ve done or said. We appreciate you all!

Update on thatcher. Sorry it’s late in the day. Today was good. We are now on strict isolation and limited visitors, so he’s rested most of all day. They started new formula feeds to promote weight gain and he is tolerating them very well. The doctors rounded and gave us some updates. They will start lab work on monday to get baselines for all of his organs and their functions. On Wednesday they will take him and place a PICC line and the cardiac anesthesia team will be in there just as precautions. Tuesday the 2nd is our date for the cath at this point. Depending on findings from this we will know a date for open heart. The surgical team will consult again and we will just go from there. We feel every single ounce of love we have been shown and I can not say thank you enough. This little boy is something special and he is such a testimony!!
