We've watched the news clips, we've liked the Facebook posts... its time for a proper thank you.

I've just got home from the fantastic, peaceful and intelligent protest against the Government's threat to impose a new harsh junior doctors' contract.

This protest was attended by "up to 20,000" people according to the Daily Fail (maybe we'll trust them with that statistic). The scale of this huge rally, which has undoubtedly risen awareness across the UK, and may just save our NHS from the brink of privatisation, would not have happened if it were not for five dedicated doctors who gave up their early mornings, lunch breaks and evenings to call in giant screens, organise safe policing numbers, and take on Jeremy Hunt on national telly: Sundeep Grewal, Anna Warrington, Yezen Sheena, Roshana Medhian and Salwa Malik.

This was a huge undertaking. For example, not many people will know that Dr Anna Warrington has delayed her exams to be able to commit to organising this logistical nightmare.

Now why am I telling you all this? I work with Anna. I have the privilege of being able to buy her a cup of coffee on Monday to thank her for her efforts.

If you would also like to thank the team, please consider donating the price of a cup of coffee (£2, or £19 if you live in London) so we can give the team the thanks they deserve.

Suggestions for how to remunerate the team so far include paying for their exams. Others welcome.

If everyone who marched gave £2, that would be £40,000. Pretty decent thank you in my book.
