Thai Street Paws Rescue
I am an Australian teacher, living in the south of Thailand. My mission here is to rescue, adopt, sterilize, treat and love as many street dogs as possible.
GoFundMe donations will go towards daily expenses to keep Thai Street Paws running. For items such as rice, produce and meat used to prepare food for shelter dogs as well as street dogs; medication to prevent blood parasite, tick/flea preventative, antibiotics, heartworm preventative, foster home expenses, sterilisations and much more.
The greatest obstacle I face right now is not owning a car. Having a reliable vehicle is critical to buying food and supplies, daily feeding and the transportation of dogs for veterinary care. In the end, I have realized that without a car, I am of little or no help to the dogs I've been working so hard to help for so long. By helping me to purchase a secondhand vehicle to use for my rescue activities, you would be contributing directly to ensuring these animals are fed and cared for.
My future goal, if funds allow, is to create a basic space to use as a clinic where dogs can be sterilized, recover and then released or placed in foster care to await their forever home. Sterilization is a huge expense in my budget, but necessary to stop the cycle of street dog reproduction. Having a basic clinic where sterilizations could be done locally would make a huge impact in the work I do and the future of Songkhla
Please note that my sister Nadia Johnston is attached to my gofundme, as she resides in the USA and the funds are sent to me via her.
Thank you for caring!
Lots has been happening at the sanctuary. We have had so many volunteers so eager to work and make it a better place for the dogs. A puppy run and another small dog run has just been completed. Over the Christmas period I will focus on Georgia's playgrounds, while some keen volunteers hope to build a new run around our existing shipping container.
We also have some dogs needing to get to LA in the new year. Maybe you have airline miles you aren't using that you would like to donate to us and help get dogs to their forever homes! If you would like to donate miles, please contact me.
Thanks for your support and I am sure you are all busy preparing for the Christmas season. Much love xx
Please help my little girl!
I am selfishly asking for your support this Giving Tuesday for one of my own. Every day I help and rescue so many dogs and often my own dogs miss out.
We should have been back to the specialist 10 days earlier than what we were, but things changed once Tiger, one of my rescue dogs became sick with distemper. I had to cancel our Bangkok appointments as it was impossible for me to leave Tiger, as I was the only one able to touch and treat him.
I am hoping like anything I haven’t left it too late for my baby girl. We see the oncologist on the evening of the 29th and I hope that Georgia’s liver can cope with the chemo. As of today the cancer hasn’t spread to her blood. Please help her! I am beside myself with worry about Georgia and also her mounting vet bill, but I can’t give up on her.
Please keep my girl in your thoughts, share and help if you can. Every dollar counts and helps so much!
On the 20 November, Tiger tested negative for distemper and coronavirus, thank goodness. After 10 plus days of treatment, he is now healthy and happy.
The landlord won’t fix our flooding issue, so we will! Much of the overgrown shrub has been removed and truck loads of dirt spread to reduce flooding. With flooding brings snakes, scorpions and mosquitoes, which all pose a risk to the dogs and humans. We still need many more loads of dirt. A sump hole was dug, ready for the sump pump to be installed. Sadly, all this costs money and it is money that needs to be spent. Just a shame that I need to use much appreciated donations for this, when there are so many things that I still need to purchase.
Back in Bangkok with my girls. I feel so helpless and incredibly sad. I am gutted. Both my girls were meant to be spending the next few days with me enjoying Bangkok. Now we are admitted to the clinic. We will stay here as long as I can afford to (which won’t be long) as they need around the clock care, which I can’t do alone as I am so tired. All my own funds have been used for the unexpected work at the sanctuary. I feel so much resentment towards my landlord. Please let everything be ok.
I am too tired to write much but Georgia’s Lymphoma is back and her liver function is through the roof. Needs chemo asap but liver needs to improve first. Bella has been diagnosed with Alzheimers.
We had a rough night last night. Not much sleep. Georgia’s IV machine going off, vomiting and low blood pressure. Bella was wandering off and on during the night, not familiar with her surroundings. This morning Georgia’s blood pressure is back up. Please help me if you can with my own dog's expenses. I can't give up on her now, I am so desperate to do whatever I can for her.
Any help would be appreciated. Much love xx
Quite a few months ago I was asked to help this boy. I was told he was friendly, so I agreed as I had planned to take him to our sanctuary. I had him at the clinic for many months where he received medical treatments, vaccinations and sterilizations. A total of 9000 baht was spent on Harper.
However, Harper was not as friendly as first told and I felt he would be happiest back on the streets where he was found. I tried to find out where exactly that was, but the people wouldn’t tell me. They told me to release him anywhere on the street, which clearly I wouldn’t do. They weren’t phased that I had spent so much time and money on Harper and that it wouldn’t be fair on him.
So Harper went to our Sanctuary and basically shut down. We simply don’t have the facilities to deal with such difficult dogs and is not fair on volunteers to have to deal with such dogs. Harper has now been at the training facility for 6 weeks and only just now, have the staff managed to touch him. I was thrilled to receive this video today.
The staff believe he has been severely abused and will need at least 5 months at their facility. Boarding and training per month is 5000 baht. Would anyone like to help towards Harper’s boarding costs please? Harper is now the third dog I have at the training facility, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Much love xx
