Hello Team SamIAm, It's almost a year later that Sam received his Heart and Kidney transplant and we thought his circumstances would be different. Over the past year, he has had a few times where his heart was rejecting and now he is battling pneumonia. This is going to make it even harder for Sam to work as recovery and rehabilitation will be very intense. His wife, Ashley, continues to be the strong support system he needs by his bedside; and we wish for her to not have to worry about the financial consequences of being there. Our Family, is also trying to travel and be a constant support for Sam and Ashley. Between taking care of their general household expenses, continuos meds, parking at the hospital, increased meals, transportation and other miscellaneous cost; we are in need of your help. Sam and Ashley could not have made it through this past year, our original goal, without your generous support. We did not think we would have to do another Fundraiser but at this point we need all the support we can to make sure Sam and Ashley are taken care of and the ONLY thing he has to worry about is getting Stronger. Alright Team let's, Conceive and Pass the word, Believe that Sam will get better, and Achieve our goal. We love and appreciate each and every one of you, whether it's a donation, a repost, or your kind words. All of your generosity is appreciated! Love,The Roberson's#ConceiveBelieveAchieve #BreatheSamBreathe#FaithNotFear#TeamSamIAm

We will be in touch soon to share information on arrangements to occur in Chicago. We love you all and appreciate your support of Lil Sam throughout his gift of life. Our Champions life.

Apologies for those who have read this already, but for those who are not on FB, this is the latest update:

Update: #TeamSamIAm 5/17/17 The doctors have advised that Sam's condition has reached there final level for life support. Sam has remained courageous and is solely in God's hand for a miracle. Continuing to trust in God's will. Waiting on a miracle in Sam's lung healing recovery from God of Abraham and Job. We are now processing this info as a family. It's a difficult place. Although we may be expending less time on FB to focus on inner peace with God's healing for Sam on earth or in heaven, please know that we still feel and appreciate all prayers, encouragement, donations and support. We love how you love Samuel G. Roberson Jr. his wife Ashley and our family. TGBTGLORY!!!

Hello #SamIAm,

I need to update you all and let you know that I am Latoya Roberson and Sam's sister. I will be withdrawing the funds in my name for Sam and Ashley, so I can pay their bills. Ashley has been at the hospital non-stop and I don't want her to have to worry about it. I will be paying their bills directly and transferring funds as needed. Thank you for your continuous donations, love, and support for Sam, Ashley, and my family. We love you all!!

Conceive! Believe! Achieve!

A #TEAMSamIAm UPDATE: Yesterday, April 25, 2017, Sam Jr. was to have a routine surgery to improve his breathing and mobility chances. I'm sorry to report the surgery didn't go well and some maneuvering had to be done to place a new tube back into his mouth and throat. The surgery failed and escalated into two more emergency surgical surgery procedures last night to keep him alive. I'm telling you from 5pm last night to 5am this morning was a medical roller coaster that we couldn't refuse to ride; and exhausting for all. However, we remain feeling blessed that Sam Jr. endured through last night and today still having a fighting chance. Sam Jr. is stabilized at the moment. Thx for checking on us. Lil Sam is now in the process of being rescheduled for surgery early tomorrow morning to again remove a breathing tube from his mouth and down his throat and replace it with a Tracheostomy - goes through the throat. The key to having a Tracheostomy is that it's will allow him mobility, less sedation, better comfort, and an ability to communicate. Although disappointed, we remain grateful for the gift of life. So the struggle goes on and we are trusting and praying that this bad turns for Sam's good. Well It already has because the failed surgery later that evening became life saving grace later last night when it provided an air opening escape when excess oxygen was building up inside his body requiring emergency surgery. GLORY TO GOD! Won't He do it!!!! No matter what mistakes were made or why the surgery failed, I'm glad to know a God who's hands can fix and cover all of man's flaws. So despite the adversity we are facing, I'm going to choose to praise him anyway right in the middle of it! Hallelujah God! Thank you Jesus! TGBTGLORY!!! Whooooooooo! Our son is still breathing life! Wonderful Counselor please console my family. Praise God! Heart Regulator give calm and peace to my family. Continue to cover my son with your blood that flows from Calvary's Mountain, free to all a healing stream. Have Mercy! I give You all the praise and I thank you for this moment of anticipation being allowed to witness your mighty power. I'm STILL because I feel the calm of still waters beside me...I'm STILL because I feel the warmth of your grace, I'm STILL because I feel the calm of your love for our son, our family and all your children praying for Sam's healing; not because we're worthy, but because you are Lord and Savior and Our God is just that powerful and merciful and worthy to be praised. God I thank you and in your precious son Jesus name I have provided this update and pray, amen. When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on, Breathe Son, Breathe...

There are no adequate words for your loss Ashley. Grief is a heavy companion. The load never gets lighter, but your legs do get stronger. Hoping this helps make your other burdens lighter as you carry on. You are in my heart.

To Sam's family and friends: So very sorry for your loss. I did not know Sam but I know someone who was close to him and I know he must have been a great guy. His story is an inspiration, may you be comforted in knowing that.

So sorry that Sam's battle has ended. One of my neighbors told me Dan is in "the good place" now. I am sure Sam is with him.
