Helping a Veteran Hurricane Harvey

This past weekend Utica, NY hosted the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.  The event was amazing and the support from our community was overwhelming for these true American Heroes!  As we all enjoyed the event, the state of Texas was getting hit with Hurricane Harvey.  As one of the players was on the field, not knowing the devastation going on, he played in front of all of us as we watched such an amazing man.  Ben Mitchell is an amputee, amazing veteran and now such a dear friend to so many here in Central NY.  Ben was to fly out of Syracuse, NY Saturday evening but was told his flight was delayed, not just once but 6 times.  We made sure he wasn't alone as friends took him to dinner, lunch, store for food and to the airport and he flew out today at 2:30 in hopes to get to Texas.  Not to the airport close to his home but at least to his state.  His wife and children are home and we are all worried about their safety as well as everyone in Texas.  Ben is an amazing man and friends and I want to help Ben and his family and anyone he can in the state of Texas.  Being in the military, they fought for us, lets give back to them!

If you can give $1 or $5, anything helps.  PAYING IT FORWARD for someone who did so much for us, our country.  

Donations will be sent to Ben to help his family and/or community during this devastation with daily necessities such as water to drink, food to eat, clothing, or sand to keep water away from homes, or maybe bring the first responders a meal.  Whatever we can do to help.
