Terri Landt's Recovery
Donation protected
Three years ago after having colon cancer my mom, Terri Landt, was having issues with her memory, balence and gait. She was seen by a neurologist and was found to have a brain tumor on her cerebellum. We had her evaluated by a neurosurgeon who has been following her closely since then. Every 6 months she was going in for repeat MRI's to watch for tumor growth. It appeared to be slow growing so we continued to watch and wait. About 5 weeks ago mom received a call about her tumor. It was determined by her neurosurgeon that she needed to have it removed ASAP.
A lot has happened this past month. Her neurologist requested cardiac clearance for the surgery . She was seen by a provider and then referred to Des Moines for more in depth follow-up. On Monday Dec. 5th her cardiologist had concerns about her safety during the surgery. He decided the next step was a cardiac catheterization. This all happened very quickly! Thankfully this went very well!! We were then given the go ahead for surgery Dec. 7th.
At this time mom is home recovering from surgery. Surgery went well with no complications. Thank the Lord!
This has been a challenging time for our family. Please understand mom has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We continue to ask for prayers, good thoughts and love to be sent her way! ❤❤
Our hope is she will be back to "normal" in no time. This is an extensive surgery and one we were not anticipating. We know there will be a lot of medical expenses as well as lost wages. Any help would be beyond appreciated.
