Help Tech Stand Up on March 14
Tech Stands Up is a grassroots movement giving a voice to the rapidly growing concerns about the Trump administration's policies affecting the tech community and its users. On March 14th -- Pi Day -- thousands of people in and around the tech community will rally in Palo Alto to:
-- Urge our tech leaders to stand up and speak out for our users when the current administration enacts policies that negatively affect our community.
-- Hear from leaders in the tech, non-profit, and policy communities on practical things you can do to stand up to the Trump administration
-- Connect technologists to organizations that are being directly impacted, through hackathons, fundraising, mentoring programs, and donating skills/time;
-- Work together with other organizations to bridge the divide between the tech industry and people that technology has disrupted
We have 10K people interested in attending the rally. To make it a success we need your support to cover the costs of:
- A stage for our speakers
- Security & Insurance
- A/V and lighting equipment
- Toilets and basic amenities
- Cost of a gathering permit
Thank you so much for donating and helping us maket this important event a reality.
Brad, I am the CEO of LegalForce Trademarkia.com in Mountain View, and an internet entrepreneur. I see that the goal is $15K, and that you are looking for tech companies to sponsor this event, and you are currently $3K short of this goal. I can fill in the $ difference if you dont reach the goal by 2pm. Call my cell at 408-398-3126 now.. Thanks, Raj ps... I have been trying to find a group like this for a while, and have a fledling Meetup group to try and create a mobile app to help protests distribute across cities instead of in just one place. I'd like to get your thoughts on my ideas for this app.
It would be great if we could get a company or two to help, however, it has been kinda hard to get them to sign on given the political nature of the event :/
