Techno Kids FLL World Festival Trip

The Techno Kids, a FIRST Lego League robotics team from Pierre, SD, won 2nd place at the FLL South Dakota state tournament and earned the right to attend the World Festival FIRST Championship. The Championship will be held in Detroit, MI, April 25-28, 2018.
The Techno Kids team has been competing in FLL for nine years. As members have joined and graduated over these years, they have added to their team’s knowledge and skills, passing ideas from experienced members to newer members, and moving closer and closer to this goal of qualifying for the World Festival FIRST Championship. After nine years of learning from each other and acting on advice and knowledge from so many people, they finally did it!

The team will continue to share what they have learned with others. Over the years their team members have shared knowledge with other teams, helped them make improvements, and encouraged other kids to be part of FLL. Some of their graduated team members have continued as coaches for the team and others, designed a week-long camp to introduce new kids to FLL, and continued to compete and participate in robotics through high school and into the college arena.
In FLL, the core value of Gracious Professionalism means that fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions. Gracious professionals learn and compete like crazy, but treat one another with respect and kindness in the process. Knowledge, competition, and empathy are comfortably blended. The Techno Kids and other FLL members who learn the value of competing respectfully and cooperatively will carry these values through their school years and into their chosen fields of work.
The Techno Kids team currently consists of ten students in grades 4-8, and they would be grateful for your support and help with costs for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you!
As a thank-you to businesses and individuals, the team would like to recognize their supporters on their t-shirts and displays at the following levels:
Bronze Donors: $100-$500
Silver Donors: $501-$1500
Gold Donors: $1501 and up
