TECA Surgery for Punkie!

Hi! My name is Mue, and my cat Punkie is in need of a Total Ear Canal Ablation surgery, or TECA. His left ear canal is currently swollen with what the vet believes are tumors, likely feline carcinoma. If they spread from the ear canal, it could turn deadly.

This all began when his ear flap swelled up as a hematoma for unknown reasons (apparently this is common in cats). We took him to the vet, who drained his ear and gave him stitches. Unfortunately, his ear flap healed folded over, covering the entrance of the ear. From there, he developed a severe ear infection. We have taken him back to the vet time and time again, and have administered ear drops over a period of months. He's received antibiotics as well, and nothing has been helping.

Finally, upon the discovery of the tumors, our regular vet referred us to a veterinary surgeon, who told us that Punkie will need the TECA surgery as soon as possible. Here is the paper they gave me about the procedure.


The date written (May 16th 2018) was supposed to be Punkie's surgery date, but I was denied both Care Credit and a ScratchPay loan due to having bad credit from medical bills. I am a survivor of Hodgkin Lymphoma, and my medical history has greatly affected my credit and financial situation.

I want to try to raise the full cost of the surgery in order to ensure he can receive it, even if I have another financial disaster. He lives with my parents and I, and we are currently paying off 2 mortgages on our house. If we don't pay on the mortgages each month, none of us (including Punkie and our other cats) will have somewhere to live. So, unfortunately, that takes priority and consumes most of our resources.

Punkie is a well-fed, neutered, vaccinated cat. Here's documentation of Punkie's last vaccine to show that he is well taken care of and very much loved:
