Hello Friends and Family,
As many of you know, our dad was diagnosed with throat cancer for the 2nd time this past July. He underwent a massive 12 hour surgery to rebuild his throat and part of his tongue. With the hopes that this would help get rid of the cancer, it has left him unable to speak or eat. Unfortunately, the surgery did not get all of the cancer, and he began rigorous rounds of chemotherapy a few months ago. Dad is a tough old man, but this treatment has taken a huge toll on him, and our mom. He has been unable to work since June, and our mom has had to use almost all of her paid vacation time to help.
Our mom has been his 24-hour caretaker since this summer. They are still completely enamored with one another, and she does absolutely everything she can for him. This means middle of the night trips to the Emergency Room and the Cancer Center. She is doing everything possible to keep him comfortable and happy.
You all know that neither of our parents would ever ask for help. This is where we take over. Without them knowing, we would like to raise as much money as possible to help pay for any medical or life expense we can!! Our goal is to be able to present them with a check on their anniversary at the end of November.
We are all on Team Papa!! Please share this link, and our parent’s story, with whomever will listen. Our parents have given us a lifetime of love and support, we would like to be able to help them in some small way.
Thank you,
Colleen and Sara
