SUPPORT FOR TWINS HILLARY ALEJANDRA & HILLARY ESTAFANY  — FAMILY #9

Immigrant Families Together is a movement to help reunite detained parents with their children. With grassroots effort and community donations, we have successfully bonded out Yeni Gonzalez and she's held her kids again ( https://nyti.ms/2lRD7jy)-- there is a long line of moms waiting to do the same.

Twins Hillary Alejandra and Hillary Estafany’s family is the 9th family we are helping. They are 19 years old and are currently detained at an ICE facility in Arizona. They came over the border with their younger brother, who has been transferred to another state. Their guide was killed during the journey. Their  mother is already in the United States and is desperate to be reunited with them. Their bonds are$15,000 each ($30,000 total.) This family CAN be reunited and we're determined to help them, working in conjunction with the twins’ attorney, to reunite them.

We are incredibly grateful to IKAR, a Jewish spiritual community in Los Angeles, which was the lead sponsor of the twins. Learn more about IKAR and its social justice work at  http://ikar-la.org.

NOTE: The fundraising goal for the twins has been raised in order to cover sustaining costs for them while they wait to be eligible to legally earn income in the US without risking deportation.
Any funds raised beyond this goal will be used to reunite other families.

WHO WE ARE
Immigrant Families Together is a network of Americans committed to rapid response unification of families separated by the 'zero tolerance' policy. We have mobilized to help parents currently detained through the following immediate actions:

1. Raising of bond funds through coordinated crowdfunding and individual giving in order to post bond for parents separated from their children at the US/Mexico Border.

2. Paying bonds and providing or coordinating pro bono legal representation to fulfill legal responsibilities while awaiting trial so that they may be with their children.

3. Arranging safe transportation from state of detention to the city where children are currently in foster care.

4. When needed, finding long-term housing in the destination city while they await trial.

5. Connecting parents in cities with resources in order to sustain them during the process of being unified with their children.

6. Working with local organizations and government to expedite the process of achieving full custody of their children while they await trial.

7. We are creating a toolkit to allow other concerned citizens to replicate our model in order to help bring parents back to their children across the country as quickly as possible.

WHERE WE ARE FROM
Across the United States

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
We will be paying Hillary Alejandra and Hillary Estafany’s expenses related to their release, transport from Arizona to the state where their brother is, and paying for their accommodations, food, cell phones, and other expenses, as well as providing them with support to attend appointments and reunite the family.

HOW WE ARE RELATED TO THE BENEFICIARY
We are not related to Hillary Alejandra and Hillary Estafany or their attorney by blood. We are a community of concerned parents and citizens who don't support the current separation policy and want to do our part to reunify this family.

HOW WILL WE BE HANDLING THE FUNDS
We will withdraw all donated funds to Julie, the leader/organizer/founder of Immigrant Families Together. They will then be transferred to her attorney or the twins. Expenses to be paid include: Expenses related to release, transportation from Eloy, Arizona, lodging, food, local transportation, cell-phone, and other expenses Hillary Alejandra and Hillary Estafany may incur as part of the reunification, including but not limited to costs of preparing for their court appearances (copies of documents, etc).

Dear Generous Donors,

I’m overjoyed to share that, due to your generous support (especially that of Kristen Bell, who encouraged her friends and followers to donate to Hillary Alejandra and Hillary Estafany, for her birthday), the twins have been reunited with their mother! We still are working to reunify their little brother with the rest of the family. Luckily, we have a strong, resourceful team of volunteers, and we are confident that this family WILL be reunited.

The fundraising goal for the Hillary Twins has been raised in order to cover sustaining costs for them while they wait to be eligible to legally earn income in the US without risking deportation.

Any funds raised beyond this goal will be used to reunite other families. All with your help, for which we are so, so grateful. Thank you again for being a light in what can be a very dark world.

With love and light,
Immigrant Families Together

Dear Generous Donors,

They have spoken to their mother and are starting the journey to get to her. Although this first step toward freedom is cause for great celebration, we still are working to reunify their little brother with the rest of the family. Luckily, we have a strong, resourceful team of volunteers, and we are confident that this family WILL be reunited. All with your help, for which we are so, so grateful.
