Losing a leg, NEVER losing Faith!!

Just like family...

I need just a few minutes of your time, to tell you about my good friend & Family member, Lace Harrison. Let me first tell you that Lace has 2 beautiful baby boys. Tripp, who is 7 years old & Jimmy Nash, who is 3 years old. Lace is 28 & a single mother. I'm sure most of us can understand how difficult it is under ideal circumstances. Unfortunately, her situation is far from ideal and has recently got much worse. I certainly admire her resilience. Life is far from fair, but sometimes, it can push us right up to our breaking point. Always keep in mind that everything that happens in our life, no matter if it's good or bad, from the people we meet, all the way down to those seemingly insignificant choices we make, are preparing us for what comes next. Lace's story has both good and bad. I'm going to do my very best to tell it for her.

Don't blink, you'll miss something...

On July 26th, 2016 a seemingly ordinary night out with friends, took a sudden and tragic turn for the worst. Lace was out with her friend. Her friend had a new boyfriend, who Lace first met that same night, with her and was also the person who was driving. It started getting late and Lace needed a ride back home. Shortly after they left taking Lace home, the blue lights of a police car lit up behind them. The guy driving decided he wasn't stopping for the police & hit the gas. Lace immediately started screaming and crying for him to let her out of the car. At some point during all the chaos, she took her seatbelt off, trying to jump out of the moving car. The driver never showed down and the police chase continued at over 80 mph the entire time. When the driver took the ramp to get on the interstate, he lost control, the car began to flip and crashed into the concrete pillar supporting the bridge at the bottom. Lace's tibia and fibia were broke and protruding through the skin, when she was thrown into the floorboard on impact. The paramedics worked for over an hour to remove her from the wreck. Her first of many surgeries was done that night. The issue most common with any major injury like this is the risk of infection. Within a month, she developed a bone infection in her leg. Since then, Lace has been through 12 surgeries total and is roughly 6 weeks away from the 13 surgery, which is also when they have decided to amputate her leg. The infection is currently in her knee and the doctors are attempting to fight the infection off, so that she can have a below the knee amputation. If it doesn't work, she'll lose her leg above the knee, which makes an already awful situation, into something much worse. Unfortunately, she's going to lose her leg, but only God knows exactly how much they'll have to remove. In case you're curious, the driver of the car received 7 years in prison.

Adapt & Overcome TDDUP!

Over the last year, Lace had been mostly confined to a bed. She has no source of income, but nothing around her stopped, just because of her accident. Currently, she stay at her parents house, who have done everything to make sure Lace, as well as Tripp & Jimmy Nash, are taken care of. With the recent news that her leg would have to be amputated, the chances of their financial situation improving, is no longer a reality. In all honesty, I've never done this before. I have no idea if it'll even be worth attempting, but with all the things Lace has made it through this past year, taking a few hours from my day to do this, seems like the very least I can do. Lace has been with TDDUP for quite some time now & is definitely a member of our family. Keep in mind, no matter how well we know one another, I'd be more than happy to help anyone who supports TDDUP, in whatever way I could. At this point, I think she's been through enough and easing the financial burden a little shouldn't be hard. With all the  TDDUP ‌ pages & followers from all over, simply contributing $1 would make all the difference in the world. I'm hopeful that she can focus solely on rehabilitation, once her final surgery is done. Any little contribution will make all the difference in the world. Not only for Lace, but her 2 sons, as well as mom & dad!

So TDDUP, I'm standing here now, asking for whatever help you can provide. I have no doubt that, regardless of what happens, things will turn out exactly the way they're intended to be.

We'll never lose our FAITH!  That remains with us "Till Death Do Us Part"!!!
