SAVE RAY'S RAGTIME

$5,481 of $11,000 goal

Ray's Ragtime is old Portland. Our rent has increased nearly $3,000.00 in the last three years, which is just about a 50% increase. As it stands currently our landlord has given us three days to either come up with this enormous sum of money or evacuate...

If there is any way you can help us, please do.

Ray has been in the business since the seventies, and we have been located on the block since 1986. Ray's has meant a lot of things to a lot of people and we don't want to leave you just yet.

We would like to have more than three days to pack up and leave, and we also could use help with startup costs at a new location.

If you can help us out in any way, we would be very grateful.

Love,

All your friends at Ray's Ragtime

We are all moved to 4059 NE Sandy! (We are OPEN for business although but not totally set up). Our opening party will be Saturday, May 7th (giving us time to make things look sharp)! We hope you all can make it!!

We have a beautiful space here across the street from the Hollywood Theater! We have all the same stuff and all the same staff! Come on out to visit Ray and the gang at Ray's Ragtime Hollywood!
We think this lady is our store mascot... :)

So, yesterday I signed the lease for our new location of Ray's Ragtime (located across from the Hollywood Theater). So this makes me the new owner (!) of Ray's Ragtime. I'm bringing Ray along with me, and all operations and merchandise will essentially be the same. We are all pretty excited about the move, and appreciate all the love and support from the community which has allowed all of this to be possible. Thank you all for your support during this wild and woolly time! We hope to be operational over there after the first week in April.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the generous donations!!! All contributions are helping us, great and small. We did find the perfect relocation space in the Hollywood area, and we are several thousand behind in making our relocation dreams a reality. If you can help us in any way we would dearly appreciate helping hands. :) We are officially out of our current space at the end of March. We are having incredible sales on everything, and we give even more incredible deals to our friends! We are going to have a send-off party on March 27th with bands and DJs and clearance blow-out prices. We hope to see your friendly faces soon!!

I'm so sad to hear of this. I've been a customer for 20 years. 3 days notice seems harsh. Is there potentially any legal recourse? Also, have you thought about relocating to the east side? I suspect it would be more financially feasible and you'd probably get a better reception in terms of friendlier neighborhood and better sales. Just a thought...

I agree with the comment below about relocating to the east side!! You could definitely get more for your money. You guys should maybe consider doing a huge sale!!

I'm secretly hoping your new location is in NE closer to me so I can find treasures in your shop even more often. But as long as you stay open somewhere in Portland, I'm happy. Love you guys!
