Taylor's long road to recovery

Donation protected
The Back Story: Taylor is a young, sweet, beautiful, girl, who’s life has been drastically changed, due to no cause of her own. On June 17, 2018, less than 3 weeks after Taylor graduated high school, she was the passenger in a horrendous car accident. The vehicle she was in was hit directly where she was sitting, by an illegal street racer. The impact estimated by officials at the scene was close to 90mph. The car Taylor was in was NOT street racing. Now, instead of getting ready for college, and using the scholarship she worked so hard to earn, Taylor is lucky to be alive. She is recovering in a hospital. Her new future is unknown. The Injuries: Taylor was hurt extremely bad in the accident. She was in a coma for many days. She has undergone surgeries and has more in her future. Taylor suffers from a broken pelvis, ruptured bladder, and more serious organ damage. Both of her femurs were broken and rods were put in. Taylor had receive a tracheotomy to breath, and a feeding tube to eat. She suffered hundreds of stokes and frontal lobe damage. The severity of her TBI is still unclear. She has terrible neuropathy causing unbearable pain. She is absolutely uncomfortable and in excruciating pain all the time. Taylor cannot walk, eat or manage her diabetes herself. Taylor can not take herself to restroom or shower. She is relearning everything. Taylor has a new life. And it is not fair. How you can help: Taylor’s parents have exhausted their PTO and other resources to keep the family afloat. Her mother, Kristene, has stayed at the hospital round the clock tending to her daughters needs. Taylor will now need a lifetime of specialty care, much of it round the clock. The first step is helping them relocate. The home they are in now is not conducive to Taylor’s care. The hospital cannot release her to go there at any point. They now need a single level home with hallways and restrooms that can support a wheelchair and lift. They also will have to accumulate many accessibility tools for Taylor to continue to improve. Without both parents being able to work, bills, gas, food, childcare for Taylor’s younger sibling are all piling up. On top of the medical expenses, this is an incredibly stressful and overwhelming time. The funds gathered here will first go toward the family getting into a new home safe for Taylor to heal and grow. Afterwards any funds will continue to support Taylor, and any continued care she will require in the future. Thank you for the support.
