Taos Academy Senior Trip

My students are from a small, rural community in northern New Mexico with a high rate of poverty, unemployment, and teen suicide. 

Despite these challenges, my high school seniors are striving to better their lives by pursuing careers in arts, technology, and entertainment.

They are excited to explore the world and expand their opportunities for career exploration. They are willing to challenge themselves by reaching for post-secondary experiences that will help them to change the statistics in our community.

We are fundraising to go to Los Angeles, California on a senior Trip in March 2017.  While there, we will be visiting sites that will inspire students in their career choices, such as Griffith Observatory, Getty Museum, Los Angeles Art Museum, and Universal Studios.  Some students have never left the state, been on an airplane, or seen the ocean. I want to give them the opportunity to have experiences they never had before.

Students have been raising money for their air fare and activities.  They need help with chartering a bus while in Los Angeles to get to their first-time experiences.  This would help lower the cost of the trip to make it affordable for each student.
