Tandy Hills Natural Area BioBlitz

Tax deductible
On April 17-23, Friends of Tandy Hills Natural Area (FOTHNA) are hosting a BioBlitz at Tandy Hills Natural Area in Fort Worth, TX. This event is being put on with the support of Teaming With Wildlife: True To Texas, Texas Wesleyan University, City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department (PARD), Texas Nature Trackers, and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department's Conservation License Plate Grants.

A BioBlitz is an effort to document all living species within a given time period. Scientists, naturalists, volunteers, & families will participate in photo documentation and data collection of the 160-acre park via the iNaturalist app. This data will be used to measure the biodiversity of the park in order to drive future management of the area.

Any funds raised will be used in order to support the event through the purchase of equipment such as microscopes, collection vials, etc, to provide food and lodging to experts traveling from across the state to participate in the event, and to otherwise cover incidental costs associated with putting on an event of this magnitude.

We are so so so excited for the opportunity to show policy makers the true benefit of Tandy Hills and how much it means to the surrounding community.

We would be incredibly grateful for any and all support.
