As many may already know, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer just this past November 2015. The process has been surreal because no one believes they will ever be in this situation. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy on December 29th and am still home recuperating. I will begin Chemo on February 19th and most likely radiation after that. My final reconstruction surgery will not take place for a year or more.
This is where the process of fighting breast cancer (or any disease) gets very difficult. Everyone asks what can I do for you? Well, the hard answer is "help me LIVE"! The thoughts, messages, cards, flowers and most importantly prayers have kept me buoyed up during this difficult time. The harsh reality, beyond all of these very kind gestures, is that life goes on and cancer is expensive.
Many of you know that we moved to Houston less than 2 years ago and have had many trials leading up to that move and more after. We have been faithful in believing that the Lord is in control of our path so we have done what we could do. We just got couches and a dining table after having nothing for a year! Most of our personal things are still in storage back in Nevada. I am blessed with a fantastic company to work for here is Houston that has been a blessing in many ways and my husband has been diligent in providing for our needs by seeking out the best job opportunities with his skill sets. Now the bills are coming in and there is simply more month than money and not enough to stretch to pay all of our obligations. This puts an additional burden on me as I am trying to get well but it really puts the weight of the world on my husbands shoulders. If I can ask one thing, please help in any way you can. And if you can't, I understand; I too have been there. Thank you for all of the love and support from so many and thank you again for any donation that will help us get through this difficult and most challenging time. We will use only what we need for personal living and medical expenses and will pay forward any additional funds to others in need!!
