Tim Mintz is not only my friend's husband, he is her savior. Nearly 16 years ago my friend Tricia Click Seybert Mintz lost her first husband, Mark Seybert, a beloved elementary school teacher in the nearby town of Colorado City , Arizona, in a tragic accident. It was no accident several years later she met Tim Mintz. My friend Tricia married her soul mate on January 14, 2006 and gained yet another name. Tim and Tricia have lived their dream life in Apple Valley, Utah, traveling extensively mostly in the US but also abroad. Tim and Tricia love the outdoors and hunt, dirtbike and hike the world as counterparts. However, Tim and Tricia have had a difficult time maintianing that lifestyle in our current economy and Tim was recently laid off by Viracon when they closed in St. George. Tim got another job working for a small company in Colorado City, Arizona, but has been without health insurance since benefits ended with Viracon. Tim has been having unusual symptoms for some time but has delayed medical treatment knowing how costly it could be. Recently Tim started coughing up blood and a lump on his neck emerged. Tim and Tricia broke down and sought medical help including a CT scan which cost them over $1000 in cash. Tim is due to obtain healthcare coverage on January 15, 2015 but was diagnosed on November 21, 2014 with a squamous cell carcinoma and needs an urgent PET scan and also an oncology visit. We know that costs between now and his healthcare insurance kicking in are huge but neccessary. I dont want Tim and Tricia to have to worry about medical costs. I only want Tim and Tricia to focus on getting better and continuing their dream life together.
