Tails' Wake & Charity Donation
I know many of you will have heard already through social media, and we have been very busy sorting out all the things that go with such a sad situation and have been working with his family to talk about the how and where you will be able to pay your respects.
So to that end, Tails’ funeral will be held at Huddersfield Crematorium at 12.30 on Tuesday 7th March and followed by an event for us to say goodbye to our friend, following the funeral 3.30pm at Greenhead Masonic Hall, 26 Greenhead Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD1 4EN
Tails was well known and loved by many people from many different places and we – from Infest, to Swing Dancers and the Invisible Circus, are all working together to set something up that will pay him a tribute. Of course, Tails enjoyed a spectacle but wasn’t really someone who liked fuss but just like him we will attempt to walk the line between ‘a good old knees up’ and a nice cup of tea and a chat!
We will be sorting out food at the venue and will make sure there is enough vegetarian and vegan food to go around. If you want to personally attend the wake, please can you let us know if you are coming in advance – we need to know how many teabags to get. RSVP to this email address so that we can get some feeling on numbers that can attend: email@example.com
We don’t have a lot of time to make this happen and we’re working very hard to get this sorted out, but we want to do him proud and celebrate the life of someone who touched the lives of so many.
Much love and memories
I just wanted to give you all a brief update and reminder about tomorrow:
The funeral is at the Huddersfield Crematorium at 12:30. Capacity inside is 50 and the family must have priority please. There is a covered area outside for those who don't get a seat.
The wake is being held at Greenhead Masonic Hall, which opens for us at 3:30pm. We will be laying on afternoon tea on arrival (tea, coffee, biscuits, cake). Please come inside and make yourselves at home with Tails' friends and family.
There is limited car parking at the hall and some space on-street. Please don't park in the numbered parking bays. There are two disabled bays available at the hall, as well as ramp access at the rear of the hall.
There will be a dance lesson at around 4pm. Swing dancing and tomfoolery was after all one of Tails' favourite activities! Please feel free to join in.
At around 5pm we'll be providing a sandwich buffet, followed by more music.
There is a bar in the hall that will be open throughout and we'll be aiming to finish off at around 7pm. Those staying locally may like to decamp to the Parish pub for more drinks afterwards.
Looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow.
If you have not already, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
