Tad Recovery Project

Donation protected
On August 5, 2019, Tad and his friend was involved in a horrific car accident on the way to Antelope Valley. While driving on the I-17N Tad lost control of his car due to a sudden storm and his car spun out and hit a tree on the rear of his car.  Tad was rushed to the ICU to the Flagstaff Medical Center where they discovered multiple head injuries which caused some bleeding in the brain and a punctured lung.  Thankfully Tad’s friend was not as severely injured, but unfortunately, Tad has been under the care of the medical staff in the ICU where the doctors informed us that he might not make it out alive.
However, since then Tad has recovered at an astonishing pace. With the help of his friends, family, and the people in the rehabilitation center, he is now able to communicate verbally with the people around him and can move around with the help of a wheelchair or a walker. Considering his situation 2 months prior, this recovery is nothing short of a miracle.
Prior to the accident, Tad was heading into his last year of his Master’s program for a linguistic degree at the University of Arizona.  What makes Tad so special and the reason why he is so beloved is he was such an unselfish person with his time and energy, had an easy-going attitude, and was very playful.  He could have used his pursuit of a Master’s degree as an excuse to be selfish with his time but he didn’t.  So unselfish he was given the nickname Uber because at a seconds notice he would not hesitate to pick a friend up for an event, be the driver for an impromptu road trip, drop friends off and pick them up from the airport, and etc.  He was the go-to guy for moving out, which can become a weekly thing at certain times of the year when you’re a college student.  He spent his weekends volunteering.  On Saturday mornings he’d wake up early to volunteer at the local Japanese school for kids here in Tucson, and on Sunday’s he was a big part of the Japanese Church in Tucson.  It is safe to say that the small Japanese community here in Tucson is devastated by this horrific accident.
We are raising funds to offset the cost of medical expenses and everything that goes along with it.  On top of the medical expenses there are other smaller expenses which will eventually add up such as lodging, traveling, and the yearlong process of recovery.  The family is currently requesting a target amount of $5,000.  Please keep Tad in your prayers, and let’s support him during this time until he makes a full recovery!
