My name is Jed Wild. I am a Paramedic / Fire Fighter in Southwest Michigan. I have been a tactical Paramedic assigned to a SWAT team for the past 5 years.
I am involved with TACTICA ministries in Costa Rica as a instructor. TACTICA was started in 2007 by a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Sgt. who felt led by God to become a missionary to police officers in Central America.
TACTICA ministires uses high quality police training to deliver the gospel in Costa Rica. These courses are some of the most sought after SWAT training in not only Costa Rica, but across Central America.
In 2014 I was asked to come to Costa Rica to help teach a tactical medic course, while a SWAT course was going on. We tought a large group of Costa Rican EMS personnel, it was an amazing experience! The students were eager to learn, and took every opportunity to participate in every aspect of the training. One of the biggest problems that I was able to observe, is that although these providers have the desire and knowledge, they lack a lot of good equipment.
I have again been asked to travel to Costa Rica at the end of February 2016 to teach another Tactical Medic course. I am raising money to purchase some quality medical supplies and equipment for these Costa Rican Emergency Medical providers. They will be able to use this equipment in the course, on the ambulance during thier daily jobs, and at times when they are called into dangerous situations as a tactical medic or responding to a large disaster.
