Tabetha & Georgia-Grace

Tabetha and Georgia-Grace Fulton arrived in Victoria, BC, Canada from Victor Harbor, Australia on June 22, 2015. Why?

Since their birth, Tabetha (aged 12) and Georgia-Grace (aged 8) have suffered with a degenerative lung disease that, to this date, has yet to be diagnosed despite being seen by more than 28 physicians from Australia and the US. This rare form of lung disease requires 24/7 oxygen for their survival. Both girls have severe inflammation of the lung tissue which results in their inability to absorb oxygen like the rest of us. Their parents have been unrelenting in finding a cure for their daughters, despite financial and personal hardships.

Why did they need to relocate to Canada? After hundreds of hours of research searching for a natural, homopathic cure for their girls, Bobby-Jo came across information on THC-A, the non-phycho element of cannabis (when produced correctly in a form she could administer to both the girls, by way of ingestion).

Great! What's the problem then? Australia has very strict rules about cannabis and its use. It is still illegal, so much so, that Bobby-Jo and her husband Marcus were informed that they may lose their two children to Social Services should they continue their illegal treatment with cannabis.

What would you do? Bobby-Jo and her family put out a social media plea asking for assistance for their girls. That plea was answered by Alex Abellan, founder of National Access Cannabis (NAC). NAC sponsored the family's relocation to Canada and is assisting in their treatment, the correct and legal way. To find out more about National Access Cannabis, please visit their website at www.nationalaccesscannabis.com.

Prior to resuming the THC-A treatment, the Fulton's are doing preliminary testing of their disease. To what end? The Fulton's were born and raised Australian's and would love nothing more than to return to their country. In hopes of returning home, they must first prove that cannabis is a viable recourse and treatment option for Tabetha and Georgia-Grace. Proving this is a process, which includes pulmonary testing and several visits with a pediatric respirologist. Once a base-line of their disease limitations has been established, they will begin cannabis treatment here in Canada. All cannabis will be purchased through a Health Canada regulated Licensed Producer and their progress will be monitored 24/7. After a predetermined length of time, the testing will begin again to document the results of the cannabis treatment.

Then what? These results will then be shared with the Australian government to see if the Fulton's can obtain special permission to return to their country and continue cannabis treatment. If the Australian government's answer is "no"...their intention is to immigrate to Canada, permanently, leaving everyone and everything they know behind.

It is quite clear that these parents will stop at nothing to help their children, including moving to the other side of the world for an effective treatment. There is so much more to this incredible family's story. It has been a difficult and demanding road, but they are not quite finished just yet!

A special thank you for Respiratory Homecare Services of Victoria and to Ed MacDonald, their respiratory therapist for the incredibly generous donation of the stationary oxygen machines and portable oxygen units. Tabetha and Georgia-Grace are forever in your debt.
