My family's home is at risk.
My family and I have been struggling to make ends meet for the past 3 years but all of our hard work was not enough.
Our hardship began when I became terribly sick 3 years ago. My chronic illness and diagnosis was unexpected. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease which ultimately resulted in the loss of my job. And as if that were not troubling enough, my wife's career in peronal care giving had taken its toll on her physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her employer treated her poorly and she eventually had to give up her job to prevent further injury to herself. That left all the burden of paying bills on me. Since I am no longer working, there is no way for me to stay current on the bills.
My parents are unable to assist financially. My mom and dad are both in debt and are on social security. My mother's sister-in-law was murdered last year which also put a financial toll on my mom.
I had an emergancy savings, but with sequestriation, a government shutdown, and a slab leak that occurred on Christmas 2013, my entire emergancy fund was depleted leaving us to live paycheck to paycheck.
I have been seeking other jobs, but there are not many that cater to my disabilities.
I have realized my family cannot do this ourselves. I am a proud man and would not ask for a handout if it were just myself. I love my wife, two sons, and our 2 month old daughter. It would pain me to lose our home or have the utilities off.
Our home is at 5728 Rosario Blvd North Highlands, CA 95660. This really is our last chance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been denied General Assistance, CalWorks, and TANF from the county. I was denied assistance by Keep Your Home California due to no suitable income. I was denied social security disability and have a lawyer representing that case. Any funds raised would go towards paying my mortgage, to include desprately needed maintanence, and keeping the utilities on.
