Handicap Van for Destinee

Donation protected
This page sat dormant for quite some time as we dealt with what we had and made a boat load of repairs to keep Destinee's old van on the road...

But....

Destinee's handicapped van is no longer able to be driven.  The frame is completely rotted and bent, and the floor is rotted through.

We attempted to have the van repaired at a body shop so we could get an inspection sticker, but we were sadly informed that there was no way to repair the van and that's it's very dangerous.

We were told that Destinee could fall through the floor.

We are asking for help to offset the cost of purchasing a newer van for Destinee.  She counts on her van to get her to many doctor's appointments and therapy.  She goes to Boston quite often for her Spinraza spinal injections.  She now has no way to get to these appointments.

As most of you know, Destinee has Muscular Dystrophy, SMA  (Spinal Muscular Atrophy, type 2).  SMA is a genetic condition which affects the nerves that control muscle movement, muscle strenght and development.  She was diagnosed when she was 15 months old.
