Dear Family and Friends,
I am excited to inform you that I am attending University of California, Los Angeles in the fall of 2015-GO BRUINS! I am one of 5,000 freshmen admitted of a total 112,000 applicants; the largest applicant pool in the nation. I will be a theater major within the Theatre, Film, and Television Program (TFT). The opportunity of attending UCLA is the beginning of a new chapter that will catapult my professional career as an actor. That being said, I would be incredibly grateful for any support that you could offer. This is an amazing opportunity that I have worked hard to achieve, but I cannot pursue it alone. I have created a GoFundMe account in order to help raise the funds to make this dream a reality. I am hoping to avoid a substantial amount of school loans my freshman year and the scholarships that are applicable to the TFT program at UCLA are only available beginning Winter Quarter 2016. In the mean time I have applied for work study as well as financial aid; it is just a matter of getting the funds for my first year of tuition. It is an extremely important as well as expensive decision to place on my parents; however, it is an opportunity that I cannot pass on.
I believe UCLA is an institution that truly is the perfect fit for me; and recently while at auditions for the TFT program, I could visualize myself growing tremendously at UCLA. The schools world renowned professors, ever-advancing technology, and incredible opportunities in the form of internships are all factors that will assist me in becoming exceptional in what I want to pursue. The impeccable training I will receive at UCLA will assist in gaining the experience, skills and maturity I need to become a successful artist. Also, with the added benefit of being in Los Angeles, an entertainment capital, I will have numerous opportunities to utilize the teaching I receive and excel in my craft.
My parents have consistently conveyed that education is the key to success, and obtaining a college degree from UCLA is an ideal step for me to begin achieving my goals. With the knowledge I have gained from my parents, family, teachers, and mentors, I believe that I will be able to leave UCLA more than prepared to tackle any obstacles that the world places in front of me. I have been so blessed by the people that God has placed in my life, for without your endless support and care I would not have this fantastic opportunity to achieve my life’s dream. Any financial contributions you are able to provide will be immensely appreciated. Thank you very much for being part of my life and this educational journey.
