Hello,
Our names are Sami and Alli Lipsit, and we will be turning thirteen this coming June. As part of Jewish tradition turning 13 is a religious milestone, and we will be celebrating our B'nai Mitzvah this May. As part of our preparation for this important event we are participating in a “Mitzvah” project. A mitzvah is a commandment of Jewish law and means a good deed or charitable act. We have decided to fundraise for something that has made a huge difference in our lives. We are fundraising for the scholarship program for the OSRUI (Oling-Sang-Ruby-Union-Institute) overnight camp. We are calling our fundraising project the “Send A Kid To Camp Project.”
We have gone to OSRUI for the last three years and view it as our "second home." It is a place where we have enriched our Jewish education, enhanced our Jewish pride, become better people, and learned about the world. OSRUI is also the place where we have made so many wonderful friends, met new role models, learned about leadership, responsibility, important values, and have had endless fun. Unfortunately, overnight camp is very costly and we want other kids to be able to have the opportunity to share in all the wonderful things we have had the privilege of experiencing. We both know that without scholarships we would not have been able to experience camp, and without camp we would not be the people we are today. We are extremely grateful for the scholarship fund! It is our goal to raise as much money as possible, so we can “Send A Kid To Camp.” Please help us give kids the experience of a lifetime!
