Dear Friends and Family,
I have been given a major opportunity to travel to Norway for a workshop in systems dynamics (complex systems behavioral modeling). It is a huge networking and learning opportunity for me that I did not expect to get accepted to. Unfortunately, due to the chaos of my last 4 months and the fact that I am currently in a semester in Nicaragua finishing my degree - and only being accepted to the program earlier this month - I have not been able to plan for it financially. Anyone who knows me well knows I hate asking for things, especially money. But, the truth is the only way I can afford this opportunity is with the help of friends and family. I have managed to find ways to bring the trip cost down significantly, but I will still need an estimated $2,200 to make the trip and live in Norway for one month. I greatly appreciate any help people can give and intend to use this opportunity to both further my career in public health and global development, as well as serve people globally with the skills and networks that the opportunity will provide.
The costs are:
$800 - airfare and travel expenses
$1400 - Estimated student rent and living expenses for one month in Bergen, Norway
The sooner I can meet this amount, the better, however the campaign will be left open until I return from Norway, or when the goal is met - whichever happens first.
