Sylvania's Theatrical Performing Arts Career Tech

Since starting at Southview in 2007, I've been passionate about building the theatre program both extracurricularly and curricularly. This year my ultimate dream became a reality: a theatrical performing arts career tech program. Just as students can focus on med tech, cosmetology, or construction, they can now choose to focus on theatre!
Our first year we have 25 students enrolled to study Acting and Dance. Next year the group will study Musical Theatre and Stagecraft. Currently the program is all SV students, but the goal is to become a true Sylvania program encompassing both SV and NV.
The founding group came up with the name Sylvania's Second Stage featuring the Totalview Thespians. We're so excited to put on our inaugural season (separate from the extracurricular play and musical) including an improv night, dinner theatre, Dancing with the Staff and murder mystery.
But we have one problem...our starting balance is zero dollars! And you can't purchase scripts or build a set or do anything without money. How can you help? Any donation you make will go directly to the Theatrical Performing Arts Career Tech account to support our Totalview Thespians. All donations are tax deductible. And if you donate $100 or more, we will put your name OR the name of the alumni/student you would like to honor on a plaque of Founding Patrons in the theatre lobby.
Remember the fun you or your child had in the fall play or spring musical? The lifelong memories, friendships built, and skills learned? Imagine having that opportunity during the school day. Any donation - personal or business - is greatly appreciated. Funds are being collected by SV Drama Boosters, but donated directly to this new program.
