When terrible news hits close to home friends and family all gather together to lend a hand and support each other. Now is the time the Limas/Dimock family need our support the most.

They received the news that no parent wants to ever get on January 16th that their child has a 4.5 x 3.7 cm tumor centered along the floor of the 4th ventricle. It is sparing the superior medullary velum, but it is extending into both the foramina and luschka. There is also  secondary moderate dilation of the lateral and 3rd ventricles. This tumor is in her brain.

The next day January 17th she was down at UCLA children’s hospital meeting with doctors/surgeons and oncologist there and she will have surgery on January 18th 2017 to attempt to remove the tumor. At this time the doctors are hopeful that they will be able to remove the entire tumor. More will be known as far as what further treatment will be needed after the pathology comes back.

All this whirl wind over three days.

13 year old Sydney is full of life and has the biggest heart and is always the first to do anything for anyone at anytime. She is an 8th grader at Vandenberg Middle School.

This campaign is to help with the cost of travel back and forth to UCLA, medical expenses and whatever else Sydney may need during this time.

Sydney Dimock update- Today we went back to UCLA to see results of tests and talk about next steps... they did say it appeared they removed the entire tumor again! However knowing that the cells were still there which made the tumor come back so quickly after radiation, they were determining the best course of action for now...

And they have decided that oral chemo drugs are the best course to stop "giving nutrients" to the cancer cells.... so she will begin her meds or at least some of the 5 drugs maybe as early as next week....

I will take her back down next week at least once maybe twice if surgery gets approved to get a port out in to allow easier blood draws and will also be used for IV dye for her MRIs. They will have to blood work at least once a week to monitor her blood cell counts very closely to make sure her immune system doesn't crash or she doesn't need a blood transfusion.

They also said she will stay on the chemo until November which is the earliest that they can safely try to re-radiate the brain... that's great that it is an option but.... they will not do it at UCLA I will be taking her to Tennessee for 6-8 weeks to St Jude's Children's Hospital.

We also discussed her speech and swallowing/eating issues she has had since surgery and they are working on getting her occupational therapy for it which is great! She will start homeschooling pretty soon which she isn't thrilled about but she is a trooper and is taking everything as it comes!

I am so proud of my sweetie for always being so positive and keeping us laughing because of her infectious bubbly personality!! She is an inspiration to so many people!

Sorry for such a long update but was trying to get it all out there for everyone at once! Thank you all for your love support and prayers!

Well as most of you are already aware, we found out a couple weeks ago that Sydneys tumor is back and growing at full speed again! We were not expecting that at all however my baby girl has been so positive about everything. She is my angel and her strength is unbelievable!

We are getting ready to head down to UCLA in an hour or so to have more surgery tomorrow morning... same amazing surgeon as before and he was confident that he can remove it again (95%) which is amazing! The down side is knowing it is cancer he must be even more aggressive which may result in permanent nerve damage but we won't know anything until she starts recovering from surgery.

We are all hopeful for the best outcome and she is more prepared this time mentally for surgery than the last time which is good. She knows what to expect which is had the battle with surgery.

I ask that everyone keep her in your prayers tomorrow❤️

Thank you everyone for your support and prayers! #SydneyStrong

Quick update: Sydney finally made it home early this afternoon!! After a frustrating night at UCLA Santa Monica, they got on their way as soon as Syd's antibiotics were administered this morning. The home care nurse came by this afternoon to review how to best care for Sydney while she's home (I haven't heard how that meeting went, yet). Unfortunately, more testing is needed tomorrow morning at UCLA, so Sydney and Trisha have to be back on the road at 4:00am tomorrow with a return trip home in the afternoon. Prayers for a safe trip tomorrow and a smooth transition at home are greatly appreciated. ❤️ #SydneyStrong
