Helping Patty

I want to share with you the story of my sister Patricia Alvarez. She is one of the most important people in my life, and I very humbly ask if you can help support us in our mission to save her life.

Patricia, or Patty as we call her, is a beautiful girl of 33 years old who lives in Lima, Peru with my parents. She is very smart, super funny, optimistic, full of energy and a bright light that shines our family. But what is so special about Patricia is that she is always willing to help everyone around her. She always put others before herself and is the friend, sister, daughter, niece and cousin anyone could ever ask for!

This past February after months of experiencing stomach troubles and being told she had gastritis, she was admitted to the hospital in severe pain. At this time, she was diagnosed with a soft tissue Sarcoma which is an extremely aggressive and very rare cancer. We have been told that only 1 in 1 million get this disease.
She had surgery 2 months ago and the doctors removed the tumor located in her duodenum and some of the nodes found in her liver.

However, at this time doctors in Peru do not have a specific treatment for her kind of disease so they are sending her biopsies and test results to the United States in the hopes that they can offer any better ideas for treatment.

In the meantime, she is starting a general chemo therapy as they are a little worried also about her liver, so she needs to start on something while they try to find answers. We have found a wonderful doctor in the United States who can put her on an alternative protocol right away, that will help her tremendously in combination with what they are doing in Peru. This doctor has had very good success with this kind of Sarcoma before and also many other difficult diseases. A very good friend of our family has been treated by him for stage four cancer and is doing amazing after a very poor diagnosis over three years ago. It is a combination of a specific diet plan tailored for her metabolism, supplements and other treatments to build her fragile body up to both, withstand the chemo and help build the immune system on its own. We have done a lot of research and we all know Patricia will benefit from this immensely.

We feel so blessed to have this option and Patricia is very excited and committed to doing it, but the cost is too expensive for our family to afford it fully.
We are looking to try and raise $25,000 to cover her first year of this treatment as well as to cover the costs to hopefully bring Patricia to the United States to meet the alternative doctor and hopefully an oncologist who is familiar treating her kind of Sarcoma as they do not know much about it in Peru.

Patricia is the best sister I could EVER dream of. I am so blessed to have her in my life, I love her and I want to see her cured, safe, happy and pursuing all of her dreams and life goals. She recently got engaged to a great guy and dreams of having children of her own one day and I desperately want all these things to happen for her. She deserves to have a new chance in life, and we are so so grateful for any support that anyone can provide. It is very difficult to ask for help, but it is worth sacrificing some of our pride if we can keep her with us for a long time.

We trust in God and we know He’s our faith and hope.
Please please help us to share this message with your contacts and friends to try and get our goal, ANY amount would be incredibly appreciated. I can assure you that when Patricia is well, she will continue to help those around her.

We are grateful and humbled from the bottom of our hearts for all your help.

Many thanks, Karina
