Thank you for taking the time to visit my cause. Steven Wayne Jr., my 18 month old nephew and the baby that never stops smiling is in for the fight of his life. His world was turned upside down on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, when the little warrior was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This terrifying situation developed very quickly, and within days of diagnosis he received several blood transfusions, a spinal tap, and the first round of chemo therapy that he needs to save his young life. Yet, somehow the warrior is still smiling! He is currently in the ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. Our family hopes he will soon be stable enough to transfer to the pediatric oncology floor where he will remain for the next 6-8 weeks. His treatment will consist of intense chemotherapy lasting around 6 months, but is too early to know exactly how long Stevie will fight this battle.
Family and friends have been amazingly supportive to parents, Jessica and Steven Matthews. However, this long road for Mommy and Daddy will quickly exhaust their savings. The financial uncertainty will be more than they can bare, and it is with a heavy heart that me and my family are asking for your help.
