Sandy Nyegaard Brain Cancer Hospice

Donation protected
Since April of 2014, Sandy Nyegaard has been battling with stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), the most aggressive form of brain cancer there is.  Sandy has fought as bravely and as fiercely as anyone could ever hope to fight.  Through brain surgery, radiation, multiple types of chemotherapy, and even experimental clinical trials, Sandy has fought to survive.  As she fought, her condition worsened and she became paralyzed on her left side.

On Friday, April 17, 2015, Sandy lost the ability to  stand and walk on her own.  We took her to the emergency room at Clara Maas where an MRI determined that the tumors had spread to the other side of her brain, weakening her right leg.  The oncologists told us that there was nothing else they could do to treat her cancer and that we should focus on keeping her comfortable and secure.

Sandy is now residing at Van Dyk Manor in Montclair, NJ and receiving hospice care.   The staff there take great care of her and keep her feeling safe and protected 24 hours a day.  This is the best place for her now, with the highest quality care available

At this point, we do not know how much time Sandy has left.  Sandy's insurance will cover the cost of the facility for a very brief period of time.  We need your help to ensure that she can remain in this excellent facility during the final stage of her life. Thank you and God Bless all of you.
