Suzanne's Eye Surgery

$810 of $8,200 goal

Suzanne and I live on a very fixed income.  We receive only $1,225 per month in Social Security Disability and $97 in SNAP(food stamps)..

I am legally blind.  She has COPD and is also blind in one eye.  Recently, we learned that she has cataracts in both eyes.  She needs surgery to save her sight.

Even though we have so little in income, she does not qualify for any type of insurance.

We need to raise the cash to pay for the surgery.  Would you please consider giving even just a little to help?  Thank you.

Hello everyone and thanks for your support. We wanted to let you know that we located a program that will help Suzanne with the surgery.

In the meantime, we still need to raise a little more money. The money donated will be needed to pay for transportation to and from Houston as well as any medications and special glasses she needs.

Thank you again.

Friends, I would like to thank each and every one of you who has donated to and/or promoted our GoFundMe for Suzanne’s eye surgery. It would be wonderful if we could go into the New Year with the fund completely funded. This would mean that Suzanne could go ahead and have the surgery soon.
I will be honest; the fund has kind of run out of gas right now. But, you could help.
If you have not donated yet, but would like to, please go ahead and make that donation. We have had a donation via PayPal and we would be glad to accept more that way. Any size donation will be a help.
If you have a blog or other social media, please continue to support this effort. Please continue to pray for this project.

Thank you once again and have a very safe and Happy New Year!

Hello, folks. We have good news. We have found a doctor that will provide the kind of anesthesia that Suzanne will require for the surgery. This doctor’s initial visit will cost $335. This means we had to raise the level of funding we need for the surgery to $8,200. We have no insurance for Suzanne.

As you know, 7.9% of all donations go to GoFundMe as well as 30¢ per donation. Our best guesstimate is that this should provide enough for the surgery and initial doctor visits necessary. Suzanne will need to see a primary care doctor before the surgery.

Please help us by donating all you can. If you can’t donate, we understand and appreciate it. Please promote this fund on all your social media outlets. Thank you for all your help.

Regards in Christ,
David E. McClendon, Sr.

A big thank you goes out to all those people who have contributed to Suzanne’s Eye Surgery GoFundMe fundraiser. You are great! We still have a long way to go.

Thank you especially to all you Marines who have donated. Folks, these wonderful Marines, who don’t make enough as it is, have dug deep into their pockets and have been responsible for many of the donations, including some of the largest ones. Like usual, the Marines are kicking butt and taking names.

Then, we have college students. These wonderful young adults, some of whom have to sell their blood and plasma just to eat, have given much to this fund. These people, who live off of ramen noodles, beans, and rice, have given generously.

Thank you to everyone else as well. We have come pretty far. We have reached 9.6% of our goal in the first week. Please don’t let this campaign stall out.

Please help us promote this. If you have a blog, Twitter, YouTube, or any kind of social media, please promote it all you can on these outlets. If you don’t, you can still help. Send email to your entire contact list. Tell everyone you know.

Time is of the essence. The sooner Suzanne has this surgery, the better the results will be. Without the surgery, this Christmas may be the last Christmas Suzanne gets to see the Christmas lights.

Someone wrote and asked us if they could give via PayPal. The answer is yes. If you wish to donate via PayPal, send it as a gift to celticmama36@gmail.com.

Thank you for your support. Please keep us in your prayers. By the way, if you know of a program out there that will pay for the surgery, please let us know.
Regards in Christ,
David E. McClendon
