Susie's Accident & Healing Fund
So now instead of creating and teaching art, I’m juggling medical payments, conversations with my lawyer and insurance company, doctors appointments, rental cars, car purchase negotiations, and doing life while recovering from the physical and emotional impact of the accident. And to make matters more difficult, the insurance settlement is not enough to replace my car which I need to honor my commitments.
Some of you might want to help me out financially. And others I know are sending love and healing. Bless you.
I’m asking for donations of any $$ amount to help purchase a replacement car by May 20th. In appreciation I will send one 5 x 7” print of Red Flower in the City or any Water Signs on fine watercolor paper to each donor who gives $25, a 5x7" metal print for $50 donation, and an 8 x 10" metal print to those generous souls who give over $100.
They say art eventually heals all wounds, so I’ve created a photo collage from 4 of the photos from the accident, appropriately titled "Water Signs - by Accident." Scroll down to see pictures, below.
If you've been wanting to add to your collection of textured acrylics or collages this is a really good time for both of us. Or perhaps you want a metal print from my On the Move or Night Music (Guitar) series. Contact me directly to discuss. Art by Susie Stockholm - I'd be thrilled to send you just the right artwork for your collection.
I am a believer in the power of generosity and gratitude. And that's why I want to share my work with you - as well as ask for your help to get my life back on track after this collision. Thank you all for your consideration.

This is me saying "Thank You!"
UPDATE:Starting to feel better. Think my brain is coming back. HMO medicine is really slow about getting my knee taken care of. Jury still out on Physical Therapy effectiveness. Eating well now, driving some, starting to make new art to replace sold inventory (thanks everyone), missed two receptions at Orange County Center for Contemporary Art where my Water Signs - Laguna Woods artwork was showing (traffic still freaks me a little), do like my "new" car and am feeling better about driving short distances. Think I'm doing pretty good considering I'm 27 ( if you're dyslexic). XXX to all.
Update: I'm walking a little better. Knee is still a mess. Start physical therapy next week so we'll see how quickly I can improve. Front and back impact wreaked much havoc on neck and back. New used car is a blessing. Everything works on it and it doesn't use much gas. You have helped me immensely throughout this unexpected event.
Thanks again, everyone!
Bad news: Medical co-pays continue. Enterprise nicked me $300 for a bumper ding. Person who caused the original accident won’t admit fault even though it’s obvious to my insurance company, so deductible being withheld and medical payments are exhausted until settled. I SO appreciate your continued support with these unexpected expenses.
More about the car - it’s really awesome and I could not have done it without you. Shopping online and via text with dealers was a godsend. Found a terrific 2013 Hyundai Sonata that had just come off lease, still under warranty and within my budget - some negotiating and help from family required. It has room for my big 40 x 50” paintings that I can slide between the seats, and a huge trunk for everything else. Can’t believe my good fortune, truly. Thank you again, SO much, for your help and support. I was able to put more cash down, so payments are small and manageable.
Thanks to so many of you for your nourishing messages of love and caring. I know that I’m going to feel better because of you. I’m thrilled that you like my new creation “Water Signs by Accident” and some of you have ordered it outside of this site. Also thanks to those who prefer to send a check, take me to lunch and help do my laundry. I forget that many of my friends are a bit afraid to send money via the internet. It’s OK :-) I’m just happy to connect with you and be able to give you a print of your choice. Since I’ve never done anything like GoFundMe, I’m not sure what to say. Probably less is more. Love you all.
