Hi, my name is Lyca. My mommy found me four years ago when
I was just a kitten, after my previous owners abandoned me during the cold winter months. When I met her, I knew I was meant to be with her for the rest of my life. I immediately took to her and never let go. My favorite thing is to be held by her and cuddle on her lap. Recently my mommy has been crying a lot and I want to help her out.
She says I have a condition called Megacolon. It is an idiopathic condition which means no one knows what caused it. The nerves in my colon are damaged and I strain and strain, but cannot go potty no matter how hard I try. It's very uncomfortable. I have had to take two icky medicines three times a day and even be on special food, but I still can't go. The vet has manually tried to get it out, which relieves me for a bit, but I still can't push anything out myself.
My mommy talked to a vet who told her I have to have something called a "subtotal colectomy" where they remove the diseased portion of my colon so that I may finally go to the bathroom on my own. It's a very risky and very expensive surgery and she needs all the help she can get to save me. I am not ready to leave my mommy just yet, so please help me raise her enough money for this surgery so that I may have pets and her affection for several more years to come.
