China's Surgery Bill Fundraiser
Donation protected
I’m Anthony Reyes, and this is our dog China, a 4 year old Throwback Pomeranian. In January 2019, she had trouble walking and suddenly lost the use of her back legs. We rushed her to an animal hospital on 1/2/19, and the MRI results showed that one of her discs had shifted and was pressing against her lower spine. There was also the possibility that there was a large spinal tumor causing the problem. With her mobility on the line, we decided that such a young, happy dog should be given a chance at life. Within days of the diagnosis, she went into emergency back surgery on 1/4/19 to try and salvage the use of her back legs.
Thankfully, the surgeons found no tumor and repaired her shifted disc. Her initial recovery went well, and she slowly regained partial use of her back legs. Now in late February, she is gradually getting back to her old happy-go-lucky self, and bunny hops to get around. Her full recovery can take months, or even years, and she may not return to her old normal at all. We will continue to love her all the same.
However, since the surgery was a major one and happened on short notice, we are now stuck with a bill that’s too much for a single income household to afford alone. The total cost came out to 5,000, as provided in the screenshot. We are asking for 3,000 to help soften the huge financial blow this unexpected surgery cost us. Any help, even a single dollar, would be greatly appreciated. Your support means the world to us and to our China.
Thank you so much.
