Suppport during Cancer Treatment

We need help paying our household bills while I am undergoing cancer treatment. This amount reflects what we expect to need while I am in treatment and cannot work. More info below: Copy/paste from my Facebook here, because I don’t want to type it all out again: Sorry guys, bad news, my tumor from 2008 has grown back and is now impacting the left side of my brain and not just the right side, so now I have cognitive issues as well as L side paralyzation. Honestly it’s kind of nice to know I am not going crazy and that the tumor is responsible for me being super distracted and constantly making typos (so many typos!!)  and kind of mentally non functional with logic and problem solving and stuff. Good thing my awesome husband Rob Strnad is amazing at those things, he is a super big help and has been absolutely great. My MIL has been awesome too and is watching Bobby for the weekend. We are working out details on kid care and transport to and from school for Bobby because he is on a reduced schedule as we sort out some behavior issues from the transition from daycare to kindergarten. Medical info: The tumor is “significant” and in a really dangerous spot to operate, but we won’t know more about it or a treatment plan or a prognosis until they do a biopsy on Tuesday at 10 am I get to go homelater today (Sat) until early Tuesday morning thank goodness. Likely the treatment will be no surgery and gamma knife radiation and some flavor of chemo. Currently I am getting steroids to try and reduce the swelling from the tumor that is currently affecting my ability to move things on my left side and to get back more function on that side. I am mostly fine at the moment, just feeling tired and bored, because hospital. I do have my phone and my laptop and plan on binge watching Riverdale and the new Sabrina show once I catch up on sleep some more. I will update in another post once we have the post biopsy info on the treatment plan and prognosis. I feel I am getting way better care this time around and apparently it’s encouraging that it took 10 years to come back, so there is that.

If you are wondering how you can help I am just going to be totally frank, and say what we will need the most is financial assistance to pay our regular household bills since I can’t work and I don’t have any short term disability or leftover sick/vacation time or incoming paychecks like I did the first time (and the first time I didn’t have a house and two cars and two kids either) We will get a donation page of some sort up as soon as we have all the info in the treatment plan and duration. ETA: this is the official fundraising location as of Sat morning 11/10. FYI I hate caring bridge so I am just going to be making public posts  on Facebook and GoFundMe. Feel free to share info in these posts with other people. Our immediate families already know. I will be sending out emails and messages to individuals as well that I want to tell in person.
