Support For Michele & Family

Donation protected
On June 10, 2017, my sister Michele was rushed to St Vincent Hospital after suffering a massive brain bleed. My nephew Conner, her fantastic, sweet, 9-year old boy called 911-without delay. His quick thinking is THE reason why she is still alive. She is currently in the Neuro Critical Care Unit where doctors have discovered that she has something called Moyamoya disease.

Moyamoya disease is a rare, progressive blood vessel (vascular) disorder in which the carotid artery in the skull becomes blocked or narrowed, reducing blood flow to your brain. Tiny blood vessels then open up at the base of the brain in an attempt to supply the brain with blood.

These tiny clusters of blood vessels cannot supply the necessary blood and oxygen to the brain, resulting in temporary or permanent brain injury.

For more information on Moyamoya, see here.

Michele was not expected to survive the surgery but is currently doing better than the providers thought. Praise the Lord for that!

It is going to be a long road to recovery. But, we are thankful that "recovery" is even a word we are using now. The bleed was on the right side of her brain, which normally means people have limited or no mobility on the opposite side. She is moving both sides of her body. That's hope for us. Praise God for His blessings.

We want to thank everyone so much for all of your love and support, it means a lot to us. We welcome your prayers and kind thoughts for Michele and our family.

Michele is expected to remain in hospital care for an unspecified amount of time accruing substantial medical bills. As the bills are coming in, Michele's mother Connie Conlon will be helping manage the expenses. If you are able to give financial support please do so here by making a donation of any amount; every little bit counts.
