My Study Abroad in France

My name is Feliberto Feliz and I am a senior student majoring in Political Science at The City College of New York. There are times that career growth opportunities arise in front of you and all you need is clear guidance and support. I have been accepted to study for one semester at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) located in France. It will be an amazing global experience to study at one of the most prestigious universities in Europe during the fall 2016 semester as part of the student exchange program hosted by the City College of New York. The importance of studying at the Sciences Po is highly relevant to my career as I am very passionate about working with people and helping them with the formal training and credentials that this institution offers. My ultimate goal is to become the president of the Dominican Republic because I believe in that societies can always evolve for the best with leaders who possess clear visions about the future of his or her nation. I also believe that majoring in political science will help me to reach that goal as I have always loved politics.
As a student, I have always been involved in extracurricular activities including being a former student senator and eventually becoming the president of the Student Government Association at Hostos Community College in 2014. I have obtained an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Hostos Community College and I am currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree. I have the recipient of numerous recognitions and scholarships for good academic standing, including the Carlos Beltran Scholarship Award and the Prof. Juan Bosch Scholarship Award, among others. I am a founding member of a center of studies named Empoderate which goal is to meet in groups of students every Sunday to discuss and analyze publications and topics associate or related to Sociology, Economics, Politics, Philosophy, and other social sciences. The purpose of Empoderate is to educate its members about how to bring social changes to society through the intelligent use of knowledge. I am also the founder of Glofortech.org an organization whose main goals is to bring awareness, improve the educational system, and share knowledge about opportunities that students may tap into as needed. I have always worked and I am currently a part time math tutor at Hostos Community College. Teaching is something that I also enjoy very much because it gives me the opportunity to help certain students who struggle with the math and science when they need extra help.
I am fully aware about the challenge of studying at the Sciences Po and I decided to seek the opportunity of attending but I need financial support as there is cost involved in reaching this goal. Once again it will be a dream come true to study in one of the most distinguished and prestigious universities of Europe and the World, where renowned international public figures have studied, such as presidents of different countries, including the current president of France François Hollande.

I believe that I am a perfect fit for this institution because I studied their curriculum of offerings and training and I am highly motivated about attending. I will be able to network with professors and students from all over the world at this institution as I understand that it has a highly diverse group of students. Once I return to the United States I can share the experience with my peers to motivate them. I already applied and was accepted. I am hoping to be in France from mid-August until the end of December for the entire fall semester. However, this student exchange program is a fabulous five months venue for professional growth but there is cost involved which students like me cannot afford because of my very limited finances. I am therefore, requesting your support to cover the below referenced expenses.
The total program cost is $7,500. Upon my completion of this program, I will be granted 15 additional college credits as a full time student in this program. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
