Supporting the Sturkens

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."

On June 29th, we lost a beloved mother, sister, daughter, friend, spouse, aunt, and so much more; Gail Neubauer Sturken. Gail was a woman whose smile made the corners of your mouth turn up no matter how sad you may be, whose laughter and hilarious antics always ended in side-splitting laughter, and whose love and care for other knew no bounds. The hearts made full by her love and souls overflowing with her laughter from the gift of having her in their lives ache at her loss, despite the comfort of knowing she will always be with us and is back in the arms of Justin, her life love and soulmate and Sam and Caroline's father, in a place of everlasting peace. 

Many of you have had the gift of knowing Gail, Justin, Sam, or Caroline through some stage of their lives. Many of you probably think of Sam and Caroline as being able to light up any room they walk into, to make friends out of strangers, to make you feel like the most important person in their world- qualities that stem largely from the wonderful influence that was their mother. 

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and if that's true, then it must take the world to help catch them when they fall. While "sorrys" will never fix this and no number of tears or hugs can reverse time, our kind words, prayers, support, and love can drive out isolation and remind them that they are never alone. 

In an effort to help the girls focus on their grief and rebuilding their lives together, we hope to wipe away the financial worries caused by such a tragedy. We ask that, if you are able, you consider donating to support Sam and Caroline's continued education, as well as newfound general life expenses, so that we can come together and help lift one more burden.
