Hello all that take the time to read this. I am Leo’s daughter in law. On behalf of the Scarola family I am reaching out to all of you that may be able to help and extend a hand up instead of a handout.
It all started when the center of the Scarola family went into the hospital for a simple procedure of getting stents put in. Stents turned into a broken artery, and them recommending a triple bypass. Before the bypass could happen Leo suffered a heart attack. After the heart attack, the bypass was performed. Two nights later still under sedation, Leo suffered a major stroke. This is what ultimately took him from his 9 children (the youngest being 5 years old), 3 grandchildren, family, friends, and loving wife of 28 years.
Unfortunately this was very sudden and unexpected which left this family in shambles. Leo was the sole income of this family and now that he is not here in the human flesh we have a mother scrambling to see how she will pay for her husband’s funeral.
I know you may be thinking why is a funeral a necessity? Well giving their family a place to go to and grieve whenever needed will greatly help the healing process over the many life events to come.
After visiting the funeral home and cemetery and finding out that the basic package is close to $5,500, and the cemetery plot is close to $6,000 we were taken aback(12,000 total). The generous funds raised will go to cover the funeral expenses and hopefully help Nicole be able to not worry about paying rent and feeding her minor children for a couple of weeks.
Any support is deeply and sincerely appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. I am hoping that we can pull together in this time of need and take away some worries. I also urge any and all of you to please take a moment to think about preparing your family for emergencies. Think about the options of life insurance and how it is the one thing that may help ease stress and worries in a devastating time.
In lieu of flowers donations will be the most helpful at this time. Any excess after funeral expenses will go towards the children's future.
