Family, Friends and Loved Ones,
It is with a heavy heart and unbearable sorrow that I share this news with you. In the early morning hours of Monday May 29th, 2019, Vinnie Rimmer unexpectedly passed away in his sleep. He was just 36 years old. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kate and two beautiful daughters; Marlee (16) and Nora (4 mos.)
Vinnie was a successful tattoo artist who most recently worked at Slingin' Ink Tattoo in Point Pleasant. When he wasn't working, he was always drawing and creating new art. If you were to enter the home that Vinnie and Kate had built together, you would find his creativity throughout.
More importantly than anything, Vinnie was a father and husband. Vinnie became a father for the very first time in 2003 with the birth of his daughter Marlee. He loved watching her grow into a lovely young woman. He married the love of his life, my dear friend, Kaitlyn Rimmer on June 10th, 2017. They purchased their first home together in September 2017. Soon after, they were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their first child together, Eleanor "Nora" June Rimmer. From the moment they shared the news with me, to the ultrasounds I was invited to attend, and ultimately the birth of Nora - Vinnie beamed with happiness. I even caught a few tears during her ultrasound, as we all listened to the sound of little Noras heartbeat fill the doctors office.
I knew Vinnie as the person who completed my best friend. The man who treated myself and especially my daughter with such love. Never once did I doubt that he would make the most incredible husband and father. A man that any woman would be blessed to have as a husband, and a father that every girl deserves.
Kate gave birth to Nora on January 26th, 2019. Vinnie was excited to help Nora grow into a young woman, just as he had Marlee. Nora is now just 4 months old. Kate works as a first grade teacher in the Barnegat School District and had only returned from maternity leave just 1 week before the passing of her husband.
Since his passing. I have been contacted by a sea of people asking how they can help. Right now, I am raising money to provide funds to Kate to help with future expenses. Words cannot describe the pain that we all feel at the loss of such a beautiful life. Please contribute whatever you can. We need to stand together with this wonderful family and pave way for a smooth transition during this very sad phase of their lives.
Any proceeds will help offset the loss of Vinnie's income while Kate takes her next steps. Anything you can give is extremely appreciated. No amount is too small...
