On September 1st, 2018, Raegan & Jordan Heitzig were involved in a two boat collision that resulted in both boats sinking. The collision occurred about 8 p.m.  between Pirates Cove and the Topock Marina near Moabi Regional Park on the California-Arizona border.

Everyone on the two boats were ejected into the water. Jordan was unconscious and rescued by her Aunt Tabby who is in Las Vegas recovering and possible facing surgery. Jordan is alive. She fractured her spine at the top of her neck and has burns from the boat impact. Raegan, Kirra and Raegan’s Uncle Brian are still missing. There is a huge search and rescue team that has been going 24/7 since the accident. Currently there are 30 divers, airplanes with high image cameras & SUVs going alongside land still looking and many more. They are not allowing for the family and friends to search. The river is also closed off to any recreational boat drivers. They are not stopping.

This is a tragic nightmare that no one can plan for or prepare for. We are hoping to find Rae, Kirra & Brian as soon as possible.

Jordan is recovering but in pain from her injuries. She is going to need loving support both emotionally and financially from her hospital time and her ongoing care with her fractured C7 bone.

We are asking for prayers and support for Raegan and the search efforts. The officials are treating this as a drowning and they believe she was unconscious at the impact so she has not suffered. We are patiently waiting and officials have affirmed they will not leave the river or give up search efforts until they find them. On September 4th, the kayak team will be doing additional searches.

We have a long road ahead of us, we are focused on one moment at a time and all prayers and good vibes are appreciated. Jordan and Morgan can feel all your prayers and good thoughts.

When we find her, we will post updates here.

***The money will be for any present and future spending the family might need. The costs will also help the family with medical bills occurred on day of the accident. We know there are a lot of future costs ahead and we want the family to be supported and feel free to mourn as they need to without money getting in the way of decisions***

The entire Heitzig Family is so grateful that Jordan survived. Both of Raegan’s parents are grieving and are thankful for your contributions.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the prayers, comments, support and love you have showered for Raegan.

As of today, there is no news regarding the discovery of Raegan. The family and friends are still committed to finding her and creating closure. While we wish we could find her, we also know the importance of memorializing her and paying our respects.

The Heitzig Family has decided to have a Celebration of Life for Raegan Heitzig in September 2019. Dates and details coming soon.

Thank you all. The financial, emotional & physical support you have given to the family is incredible and they are so grateful.

Hello everyone,
The search continues. At the moment they are searching 1-2 days a week. Local people in the area are aware she hasn’t been found yet and keep an eye out. For all of you who are local to Havasu area that have helped out- wow. Thank you all so much for how incredible you have been. Something I have to share is how beautiful humanity can be. The way everyone in the community came together in support of the families involved is beautiful. Raegan would often say, “think beautiful thoughts” so thank you all for your search and awareness efforts.

We spoke with Bruce’s Legacy about returning to search more and they explained that they exasperated their efforts and are afraid there is nothing more they can do. They said it’s the largest body of water they have ever dealt with.

The family is interested in hiring someone else but aren’t sure where to turn.

In this moment, the request we have is for everyone to keep praying. The power of prayer is real and alive. Please say a prayer often that she is found and the family can find some sense of closure. It feels like a period of limbo and prayer is something we are in control of doing.

Jordan has healed from her injuries. The burn marks on her arm have healed so well. There is barely a color difference so it is not noticeable.

Overall, the family is trying to find normalcy and happiness. They are trying to navigate life without Raegan. Each family member is on their own path to healing. They appreciate so much all your love and support you have given them. They truly are grateful for all of you.

Please keep the Heitzig family in your prayers, light a candle for Raegan and cherish the family time this holiday season.

With love and light,
Thank you all so much.

Hello everyone,
It has been 68 days since the accident occurred in Arizona. There have been tremendous efforts, man power, prayer power and volunteers who have put in time and sweat to help us find Raegan.

Bruce’s Legacy went to Arizona for a week and created a strategy with the Mohave County Sheriffs Department. They carried out the plans and were unable to locate her.

Everyone is baffled, nature has a tricky way of being mysterious. Sergeant Cox, who has led the investigation from day one, said, “we have found every single person who has drowned in this river and lake. The longest it has taken was 6 months. Not an attractive answer but always find them.”

As a family, as a community, for immediate relatives, we really hope we find her sooner.

The local authorities, outside authorities and even local people have joined in to search for our beautiful Raegan. We are beyond grateful for ALL OF YOU. We don’t have enough words to express our gratitude.

Shout out to River Dan who spent 4, 5-hour days with volunteers and jet skis looking for Raegan. We thank you with all our hearts.

Full transparency: this is really hard. We want to badly to have “the news” for you. That is simply not where we are at yet but we will be able to provide more concrete information soon.

We spoke with sergeant Cox yesterday and he reported they are actively searching 2-3 times per week. They are still continuing efforts.

Thank you all for your love, support, volunteered time, prayers and donations. It has supported the families bills, supported Bruce’s Legacy and his team to come to Arizona, and is also giving the family peace of mind regarding finances when we start to plan the memorial. We do not have a date or time set. We are waiting until we find Raegan.

With love and light

Hello Everyone,
Yesterday and today, the Mohave County Sheriffs are conducting under water divers to search for Raegan. There are also shoreline and top water searches being held. They have closed off multiple areas near Topok and the crash site so please be aware if you see a patrol boat that there might be divers below.

I discovered nearly 20 people called in last weekend to help volunteer and search for Raegan with their boats- THANK YOU! We did not anticipate so many volunteers. Due to the strategic nature of the Sheriff’s Department we are asking that civilian volunteers not search alongside the Sheriffs for safety reasons. If you think you see something then of course, call.

The entire family has been mourning and trying to find closure during this time. Both Scott and Gaylynn are grieving the loss of Raegan and are thankful for your loving support.

Jordan is healing really well and has been able to find comfort with friends and her beautiful sister, Morgan.

Your donations have supported them beyond belief.

Thank you,
