Supporting Dave Elliott & Family

As you all know and love Davey, he's currently dealing with his 3rd battle with Cancer at only the age of 27 years old, he has spent all of Christmas and New Year in hospital with ongoing and painful tests until he got diagnosed with the dreaded 'C' word on New Years day.  Davey was diagnosed with Multi system Langerhans cell Histiocytosis in 1992, aged 5 months. Davey had the disease in his bones, bone marrow, liver, lungs, ears teeth, lymph glands, bowel and brain. Drs at the time said Davey had the most widespread disease ever recorded. This cancer was at the time, often fatal under the age of two. Davey endured seven years of intensive chemotherapy, and steroid treatments, and had countless operations. When Davey was 5 the cancer has grown so much behind his eyes that one fell out, and his mum had to put it back in. This lead to Davey having an 8 hour facial reconstruction operation, to restructure his face, and to make room for the cancer to grow without damaging his eyes further. Davey was given a new drug in 1999 which bought the cancer into remission. Davey was nominated for star pupil award by his headteacher whilst at school as he was amazed that davey never used his illness as an excuse not to work hard. He has been on midlands today and the Jeremy Kyle show, and despite everything has worked very hard to pass his gym instructors qualification and pass his driving test. In 2013 Davey was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and also a life-threatening rare pneumonia called Pneumocystis Carinii. Davey then had 6 months of chemotherapy and was discharged from the clinic in February last year, having gone five years cancer free Drs said it was unlikely to return. Davey was rushed to hospital on 7th December 2018 with suspected Sepsis and has remained in hospital ever since. He was finally diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on New Year’s day. Davey now faces more chemotherapy. In between all of this, Davey has been hospitalized several times with Pneumonia, and was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis of the lungs in 2011. Davey has also had meningitis. You will never meet a nicer, kinder, happier lad than Davey. He is the bravest person I know, and takes it all in his stride. He is my absolute hero. His first words when he got this diagnosis were “mum, I am so sorry you have to go through this again”. This pretty much sums up the kind of wonderful, thoughtful, caring person he is. As terrible as the diagnoses is, Davey has got a lot of massive support around him with his wonderful family including his mum Kate.  As the treatment continues and hospital visits get longer Kate is spending more and more time in the hospital missing out on a regular income to spend time with Davey,  as a parent myself I know that I would also be there in the hospital daily, so this is why I've put this together. I know that we all say the words, if there is anything I can do.. but unfortunately there is not a lot we can do, this is a battle that Davey himself has to fight…   I know that Kate is a very proud person, and I know that under ordinary circumstances she would never ask for help, but this is not ordinary!!   SO, If  we are able to bunch up together and help support Kate and family more financially  whether its to help pay for parking, subways for Davey because the food pretty damn awful, or for the bigger things in life such as  helping to pay a little chunk towards rent, utility costs and other living expenses to help ease the burden then that would help to take an huge strain off them. I understand that Christmas has just come and gone and everyone is feeling the pinch, but scrapping a couple of pounds from everyone will be very much gratefully received, and will let Kate focus on getting Davey fit and well again.
