This page has been set up by friends of Alice Tanaka Yen Lee for her and her family.
On June 27, 2016 we received the devastating news that Alice suffered a brain aneurysm while on vacation at her home island of Guam. She is currently at Guam Memorial Hospital and she is 6 months pregnant. While fortunately her baby is doing alright, Alice's condition is very severe. She has suffered a great deal of brain hemorrhaging and coupled with high blood pressure and gestational diabetes, the doctors say recovery for her does not look likely- they say brain death is pretty certain. A doctor from Japan is working with local doctors on Guam to coordinate a plan for her treatment.
Her family hopes to eventually bring her back to Japan for additional treatment but must wait until Alice stabilizes before she can be put on a plane. She unfortunately does not have international medical insurance.
This fund was created to support whatever medical costs incur, as well as costs to fly her back to Japan when possible. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated to support Alice and her family during this difficult time. Please share her story and keep her and her baby in your thoughts.

２０１６年６月２７日の朝妊娠6ヶ月のアリスはグァムで旅行中くも膜下出血で倒れたと言う悲しいニュースが届きました。現在彼女はグァムメモリアル病院に入院しており状況は厳しいようです。脳内出血も併発し、高血圧と糖尿病の合併症があります。脳死と宣告され、ほぼ間違いないそうです。本人の回復は絶望的だとお医者さま方は言っています。幸いな事に赤ちゃんは今の所無事だそうです。
アリスのご家族は彼女を日本に連れて帰ってあげる事を希望しておりますが、現在容体が安定するまで飛行機に乗せてあげる事ができないそうです。残念ながら海外保険などには入ってないそうで、これからの海外での医療費や日本に帰る時のチャーター機の費用などが必要になってきます。そのためにこのサイトは立ち上げられました。アリスと彼女のご家族の為のサポートをよろしくお願いします。そしてできればこのサイトをシェアしていただけると大変助かります。
