Hello everyone. I’m Eugenia’s daughter, Raquel. Life took a challenging turn and our family trully needs support.

My mom had hip-replacement surgery on November 14th, 2017. During the procedure, the surgeon  hit a main artery that caused a lot of complications . Her heart went into cardiac arrest and the emergency response team was able to stabalize her.
She was in the ICU for a week and she has had a total of 4 surgeries, the last one being an amputatioon of her foot and part of her leg.

She has been so strong and getting better little by little each day. And her attitude is really amazing and inspiring.  After a month in the hospital, she is finally at a rehab center close to home. She will be at the rehab until she is strong enough to do things on her own, at least a few more weeks , and after that, she will be able to come home.

As a family, we are just so happy that she is still here with us, and so grateful to God.

Unfortunately, because of all of this, she will not be able to return to work as soon as she was planning to. Our family's usual life expenses are piling up, but also my mom now has medical costs for all of her unexpected surgeries, amputation, time in ICU, and an extended stay in the hospital and rehab center. She does have insurane but they will only cover a portion of the bills. We know that bills will soon be arriving.

We were told that $30,000 may be a reasonable estimate, and more on the low end - and this a substantial challenge that we would love some support with.

My incredible mom is a single mother who pays all the bills at home and lives and takes care of my two younger siblings - my sister Brittany, who is seventeen years old, and my beautiful brother Benjamin, who is 14 years old - who requires more a lot care than most kids his age as he is on the autism spectrum. Most of our family live in Costa Rica, so they are not able to be here and help us.

If you can, please consider helping our family - ANYTHING at all will help.

Thank you so much,

****If you do not know my mom, here is a little bit about my amazing and wonderful mom:

Eugenia came to Boulder 20 years ago. She is a single mother of three kids.  She has worked to improve our community and make it more inclusive for everyone. She has partnered with local school districts, numerous non-profits, and community organizations to increase awareness of the strengths and gifts of those in the Autism Community. Her goal is always to have kids on the Autism spectrum feel like they can be themselves, and for their families to understand them and accept them, as she believes acceptance can make all of the difference in their lives.

Through the years, she has worked to educate and support teenagers at risk for drug and alcohol use, Latino and Immigrant families, helping them to become leaders in their community, as well as people with less access to resources. Also, partnering along side parents seeking engagement and support, and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

"What an honor I have had in these twenty years! No matter where I have been in my life, every time I have moved forward, I always left behind a very good group of friends that I have been forever impacted by, bettered by, and grateful for. "~Eugenia Brady

Hi everyone! Here is an update on my mom:
She had a surgery on Thursday, February 22. It was a revision of her amputation. Even though it has been two months since the original amputation, her leg had not healed and needed surgery. The surgery went well, and she is currently in the hospital. We do not know when she will be home. She will need at least one more surgery on her leg, and at this point we do not know when that will be .
She is in good spirits, always positive and excited to go home. We hope that with this surgery she is able to move forward to getting stronger and getting a prosthesis.
Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers and thank you for your continued love and support.
We send out love. Please continue to share this page, it has been truly a blessing to have such amazing and wonderful people in our lives.

Hi everyone! Here is an update on my mom:
She is finally home, she got home on Saturday, January 20th. We are so happy to have her home finally!
As far as her health, she is doing better every day and getting stronger! The last visit to the doctor's office, he recommended that she have another surgery on her leg, as her leg has not been healing like they thought it would.
We have found a wound clinic and we have been taking her there and they have said that there is still the possibility of another surgery, but they think that there is a good chance they can help her leg heal with some time, so we will continue to take her there for her appointments.
As far as the home situation, we are hoping to find a new home very soon. If possible, please continue sharing our Gofundme page, it will help us so much!

Thank you for all of your love and support, our family truly appreciates it and we are so blessed to have such wonderful, caring people in our lives.
Thank you and I will post another update soon.

Hello everyone, thank you so much for your continued support, our family truly appreciates it! Here is an update on my mom. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

She has been getting better each day and is currently at the rehab center. She met with her surgeons yesterday and they suggested she have another surgery on her leg to help her leg heal. As of today, there is no surgery date and we will wait to hear from the Doctor.

Also, we just received a notice that we need to move out of our current home, and we have one month to do so. We are currently searching for a new place to live. It happened because we asked the landlord to fix a few things around the house (usual home maintenance) and also asked if it would be possible for a few accommodations for a wheel chair.

If you could please help us by continuing to post this page, that would be a HUGE help! Also, if you know of anyone who could help us find a house for her and my brother and sister, please contact me, my phone number is 720-325-0601.
Thank you
Our beautiful family on Thursday, January 11th.

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Here is an update on my mom for 1/1/18:
She currently is still at the rehab center, getting a little stronger each day. Her leg is healing well and she will see the Doctor on Wednesday to see if they can take out the stitches from the amputation. Her Doctor is in Denver, so the trip is very long and difficult for her. We think she will be at the rehab for at least two more weeks before she can come home. We can't wait until she is finally home!
Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.
Love, Raquel, Eugenia, Ben and Brittany
